I currently work at a high school in California. My school is comprised of approximately 1400 students, who are predominantly Hispanic and of low socio-economic status. Many of my students come from single-parent homes and have no interest in their education, except for music. My band and orchestra classes are often times the primary reason students come to school. Due to extreme budget cuts, like every district in California, we have been limited as to what supplies the school can purchase for the arts department. My students want to learn and look forward to their performances at school and outside (every year, my students perform at a local theme park to showcase their hard work all year). They need the right tools to practice, learn, and grow; right now money is a barrier that your generous donations can help us overcome.
