Snacks and Privacy!
Funded Oct 10, 2024The snacks and blockers have been so appreciated. Students have felt taken care of between ELA and Math. They are able to have a snack that holds them over well until lunch. It is such an important and vital part of their day.
The blockers have been so great! Many of my students choose to use the blockers for privacy and focus. Although they often use them during tests, some of them prefer to use them simply to read or do other independent work. The cardboard blockers that were in my class when I started nine years ago have so much writing on them that they became more of a distraction. Itʻs been so great to see students be able to focus right away when getting their blockers.
Thank you so much for supporting my students and class.”

Funded Oct 19, 2024Thank you so much for your generous contribution to support deeper science learning and to provide snacks to help keep my students engaged until lunch.
Your support will help my students develop a lifelong love of learning and a deeper understanding of the world around them. I am very grateful for your generosity.”

Funded Apr 9, 2024My students get so hungry about 10 AM. I have even had students get hangry (hungry-angry) when they do not get a mid-morning snack. Our students are fortunate to get free breakfast and lunch at school, but the only snacks that are provided are those the teacher can pull together one way or another.
As you can imagine, it gets quite expensive for me to provide snacks on a regular basis. Students' parents have also contributed throughout the year. Your contribution has provided snacks for my class to enjoy and be sustained by for the rest of the school year.
Their mid-morning is a vital part of the day that helps to sustain their energy and motivation until lunch. Mahalo nui loa for your donation!”

TV and STEM for Thinking Classroom
Funded Nov 28, 2023It has made such a huge difference for students to have a second screen to look at. Because they sit in groups, those with their backs to the front screen would have to turn around to see the screen. Now, they can comfortably watch the TV in the back. Even better, the screen is so bright and vibrant. It's the screen of choice to watch movies on now for those special occasions when they watch one!
Students have also had a great time with the Lego Gearbots. Some of them have been diligently following instructions, while others have been building their own creative designs.
The two pack of microphones have also come in very handy, especially for students doing presentations. On occasion, some of them really enjoy singing in them. So fun!
Thank you again for making such a huge difference in bettering our classroom!”

Funded Dec 19, 2023My students thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Lunar New Year through books and reading from Teachers Pay Teachers. Many of them have always celebrated but didnʻt know the horoscope story.
They each loved getting an envelope and coin(s). They distributed extras to people on campus they wanted to recognize. We really enjoyed playing Chinese Bingo as well. Winners received prizes out of the treasure box.
We were also very grateful to have our new speaker. It works so well both indoors and out. We will be able to use it for years to come.
Thank you all so much for your contributions.”

Funded Oct 28, 2022Receiving healthy snacks for the students has really filled a strong need they all have, to eat something about 10:00. Although the snacks have been eaten, this project inspired me to ask parents for ongoing snack contributions. The students seem more ready to learn and are more engaged during math.
They've also thoroughly enjoyed all of the art supplies. They've been painting much more often. They really like comparing the Colors of the World colored pencils to their own skin and using them in their drawings.
Having new tools to get us more organized is also greatly appreciated.
Thank you again so much for your contribution to our classroom.”

Funded Oct 26, 2022Students have been so happy to have flexible seating. So many need to move or have space. We have other students come in for groups, and our class has become very popular.
The math posters have helped students to understand and grasp concepts more easily. One student from another class even told his teacher that he knew something because he saw it on my wall.
Even our principal is considering getting wobble chairs after sitting in them and feeling how comfortable they are.
You have helped us to start moving our class into the 21st century, and it is greatly appreciated!”

Class Library that Keeps them Reading
Funded Sep 3, 2021Some of my students are avid readers, and they were so excited to help choose the books that would be added to our classroom library. They are even more elated to be reading them.
Our new class librarians have been keeping them organized. We've even set up a library system that allows books to be checked out and checked back in. So, not only are they thoroughly enjoying their new books, but they are being more responsible with and taking care of them.
It has been a joy to see so many students enjoying the books as well as being introduced to new genres. It's also a pleasure to see students having pride in their new library. It shows in the way they are taking such good care of the books.
Thank you so much for providing a much needed new library!”

Standing and Gardening Education
Funded Aug 18, 2021My students have appreciated being able to stand up at desks so much. It has made such a tremendous difference to their classroom life and education! I think every class would benefit from them.
Additionally, we just recently planted our seeds and the kids are so excited to be growing vegetables that are near our classroom. We've been going to the garden on a regular basis, and they love to eat from it! We can hardly wait until they can eat grown veggies right outside the door.
Thank you so much!”

Funded Dec 6, 2017Our students are encouraged, inspired, and motivated to complete science fair projects with all of the products you supplied. One class is learning aquaponics, which is a new and exciting concept for most of them. Another class is building bridges with popsicle sticks. The student who was able to put weights on his, was amazed with his new engineering skills.
Many other students throughout the school are working on individual and partner projects to submit. Among the many projects: we have one that will make an egg bounce, another that is testing chemical reactions, and one who has created a board game about the "Brightness of Stars."
The science fair is April 19th. The anticipation and excitement in our students continues to grow. They've been decorating the tri-fold presentation boards and are preparing for the big day.
Our students are so enthusiastic to be able to display their work for peers and the community to see. They are also excited about the competition and having the opportunity to win some of the fun science-type prizes you provided for us.
Thank you for supporting our students' participation in our community science fair hosted by our local high school.”
