Improving, Reinforcing and Accelerating Mathematics Through Hands - on Activities
Funded Sep 2, 2016My Students and I were very grateful to you for the donation of the Hand-on manipulates.
My students were able to use the division and multiplication machine to calculate answers to difficult math problems. They also used it to revise their multiplication tables and math facts. These sometimes turned into very competitive math games that my students enjoyed.
My students were very excited when the materials were first displayed. Some of them proceeded to examine the measuring containers and inquired how soon they would get to used them. Many of the students wanted to open them immediately.
One of our current project is to fully understand the metric measures and be able to convert between different measures. This has prove to be a difficult topic for past six graders, so having the measuring containers will definitely make a difference for these students. Why? They will be able to have a concrete, observable experience of the measurement conversion. This for sure is a powerful hands-on learning experience. my students have promise to work hard to improve their math scores and level on the state test. Once again we thank you for your unwavering support and contribution.”

Working To Improve Mathematics In The Sixth Grade
Funded Oct 1, 2015Dear Donors,
My students and I want to express our thanks to you for the resources you contributed to our class. We are using the materials to chart our lessons and print homework. My students no longer have to copy the homework quickly before the period ends, this is because everyone gets a printed homework sheet. This was possible because of the printer ink we received.
My students were all excited about the materials there were lots of wows when the materials were delivered to our classroom. We were able to experience more students handing in homework on a daily basis. It is important to mentioned that our pod achieved 15 level 3 and 4 of which we are proud.
Our next project is to obtain math materials that will help our visual learners experienced hand-on activities and deeper understanding of math concepts.”
With gratitude,
