We Need HANDS to Play Soccer Too!
Funded Oct 3, 2018The resources that we have received have been in to great use. First of all are the goalie gloves which are being worn in by our goalies. They have been using them day in and day out during practice and are excited about getting to use them in the upcoming games. The gloves make the girls feel safe and confident which is key for any goal keeper. They really like the support the gloves give them. Next up are the cold weather gloves which all the girls absolutely love. They come in very handy to all players on cold weather days. Defenders especially really like them as the life of a defender is sometimes filled with long standing waiting periods in the cold. These gloves help them stay warm on not so comfortable temperatures. The gloves also help the girls maintain a strong grip on the ball when down thrown ins after the ball gets wet or slippery.
The girls were filled with joy when they got to see what we had received. Although it may seem like such a minor thing it is a very important piece of equipment out on the field. These items help the girls stay comfortable through out a game and helps them stay focused. They really love these gloves and are so grateful to have them. The first time they got to wear them the emotions were even better as they all noticed a dramatic difference in how comfortable they were being outside even with the cold weather.
The next steps for us are to keep working hard during practice and compete in games. We want to make sure that we continue to improve season after season. Making sure that we make our donors proud and showing you all that we apricot the things that you all do. Having success out on the field and in school will help us become a great program.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School.Assist Us On Our Way To A Goal!
Funded Nov 10, 2017Thank you so much for all the supplies that were donated to us. We are making great use of everything. Before we only had 12 balls to share among 60 girls. Now we have at least 45 balls for the whole program. This allows us to have enough balls for all the girls during practice and class time. We have become far more efficient with our drills now that there is enough balls. We can also create a variety of drills and have them at several stations. No longer will the girls have to wait for a ball as there is always enough to continue practice without delay. The air pumps have come in very useful in keeping the balls game ready for away games. The electric air pump that was later donated makes pumping all our balls a lot easier.
The sticks are very helpful in creating a variety of drills for the girls. They also come in handy when setting up grids/ zones for the girls to stay in when practicing. The accuracy loops are very good for the freshmen as they are still learning the sport. The loops really help them develop their passing skills at short and medium range. The goals have also provided them with a lot of practice when they don't have access to the big goals. These smaller goals help improve their shooting and accuracy when trying to score. Now everyone gets a chance to have a goal, even if its a smaller one it makes a big difference. It really helps when we have small team scrimmages.
When we first received the materials my students reacted with excitement. They truly needed these materials in order to develop their skills and become more competitive in the district. Having extra balls made them really happy and excited for having more efficient practices. They were also very excited to receive the extra practice materials as they could have different types of work outs instead of the same limited practices we had before. They really love the small goals since it allows them to play with goals on a smaller field with a smaller group of people. They are truly happy and grateful to have all the materials. We are doing a great job of maintaining all these materials as we want to make them last for many years.
The next step for us is to become more competitive in the district and place higher in the standings. The materials have already made a world of a difference and we have improved greatly because of them. Another goal we have is to develop our girls more efficiently early on so we can have a strong team to build on year after year. We are slowly improving and I see many great things ahead for us thanks to your great generosity.”
