Listen Up!
Funded Aug 12, 2021I want to say thank you for your generosity to our class. These headphones have allowed students to focus on their work, without the added distraction of the noise around them. At the age of three, they are easily distracted and cannot concentrate on their activity. This has allowed more students at a time to complete learning tasks on their iPads.
During small group time, I am able to work with students to help them meet their individual needs, without the added noise of other students playing. We have been able to focus on more intense learning for individual students using apps on their iPad. We also use an assessment program that moves at the students' pace. It works off of the progress each student is making. I can track their progress of individual work & focus on specific needs in a more intense & fun way.”

Funded Jan 17, 2020I want to thank you so much for your generosity. My students were so excited about new balls. They were so excited, they couldn't wait for me to air up the balls. They were able to help air up the balls. While doing this, we had learned about inflating things. "Which balls bounce better?"
Each day they were able to play with the balls, was "the best day ever". Although some days there were enough balls for each student to have their own, they were able to learn to share. The fact that they could have their own ball, gave them the freedom to "let go" and share. They had team relay races bouncing the ball to a friend. The competition and physical activity was great. On some pretty days, they asked to play inside with the balls instead of on the playground.”

iPads for Communication
Funded Mar 6, 2018We want to tell you thank you for donating to our class. The impact this project has made is unbelievable. The students are able to communicate their needs using iPads (electronic choice board). After some time using this technology, the students are even verbalizing some of their wants and needs. We have less "melt downs" due to lack of communication.
My special needs students are able to tell us what they need by using the iPads, instead of having to take us to the item and hope we understand what they are trying to tell us. We started using the ipads with electronic choice boards at the end of last school year. The teacher that has these students this year are continuing the use, but is needing it much less than we needed to use it last year. The students are using more words, thanks to this project.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Davis
