Printing Predicament!

Funded Dec 20, 2018

Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful to donate towards a Brother - INKvestment Tank MFC-J995DW XL Wireless All-In-One Printer for my Sixth Grade Social Studies classes. With this printer, I have been able to make many resources accessible to students to help them understand various topics. Having a color printer has allowed me to print things like detailed maps, various graphics, artifacts and many other materials to enhance my students' learning experience. Students were delighted when they saw they were receiving printed materials, instead of the mundane black and white copies they're used to; they absolutely love it! Students have also been able to use the printer to print images, for class projects. I have even been able to make vibrant student passes for my extra help periods!

Before having this color printer, I would have to print everything in black and white and images were very blurry. For a social studies class that focuses on ancient history, it is important that students are able to analyze maps, artifacts, renderings, graphics and other various materials to help them gain a deeper understanding of social studies concepts. Being able to see a map in full color can help students understand how to read a map so much easier. If students can see a depiction in color of what the river valley civilization of Harappa, or what a Greek Polis looks like, then they can understand those societies on a much deeper level.

My students and I are so very grateful for this printer and will continue to use it for so many different things. It is very versatile and makes accessing resources incredibly convenient. Once again, thank you so much for your generous donations!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Ali
