Class Meeting Rug
Funded Aug 18, 2023we are so grateful for you! My students have really enjoyed having our leaf rug. It has brought us together in the morning and has been a cozy place for students to sit for silent reading. It has also led to great conversations about how nature boosts our emotional strength for learning.
My students were very curious when I giant rolled-up package was delivered to our classroom by the office staff. The rug was rolled in a plastic bag and had a giant tube that it was wrapped around. We are brainstorming things to use this giant cardboard tube for!
We are still in the process of making sure everyone has a space and moving to the rug for learning. This rug has helped students stay at the front of the room for whole group lessons and discussions during reading and writing. I am looking forward to more classroom routines that this rug has helped grow and strengthen. Thank you so much for making our beautiful rug dreams come true!”

Flexible Seating
Funded Aug 1, 2023My students and I are enjoying these seats that were possible because of you! The floor seats are helpful when students sit on the floor and want something for their backs. They have been enjoying being able to move them around the room and maintain being comfortable all day. The beanbags have also been fun to use during quiet working time! The cozy calming ball has also been super popular in the Peace Place - which I have even used myself!
My students were ecstatic when we received our new seating. They have been helping me create rules for our new chairs so everyone can enjoy them. This has been such a fun and powerful conversation because this classroom belongs to my students! I am excited to see how these will change the dynamics of our classroom and how the students will creatively use them throughout the year. My students and I are so grateful for your donations to make our flexible seating dreams come true!”

Funded Oct 25, 2018My students and I are so grateful to have wonderful supporters like you! We love books and we love to read. With your donation, we were able to fund our project of almost 100 books! Thanks to your dollars we are able to finish series, read new books, and read books we thought were too hard for us. Your support means the world. I see students excited to pick up these books and dive right into them. As an educator, it is hard to fund everything fun and exciting we have and participate in. Thank you so much for helping me fund my classroom library, we love our new books!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose.org Community and 11 other donors.Coding With Dash!
Funded Mar 8, 2018Thank you so much for donating to make our little robot friend a reality. My students loved spending the remainder of their school year learning to code and experiencing Dash alongside our other STEM activities. It took a while for us to learn the patience of coding. Students loved being able to make him say things as he was completing tasks with the challenge cards.
I hope to better implement Dash this school year with a new group of students. He is also a reward for good behavior; students will get extra free time with him. We will be doing STEM every Friday and students will be using him at least once a week. I am excited to try new things!
Thank you again for donating to our Dash project. Coding is very fun and my students found something they like as much as video games! They enjoy being able to see something they programmed right in front of them. I look forward to my new students using him this school year.”

Flexible Seating Options
Funded Jan 21, 2018I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate the support. I am a fourth-year teacher who pours most of her paycheck into student loan debt and my students. I was so hesitant to post what I needed, thinking I would get maybe 1 donor. You all have shown that teachers are wanted, appreciated, and encouraged. There are so many things my students are able to do with our flexible seating being expanded now from your help.
My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We really have enjoyed having wobble chairs and stools to rest on while standing. It has made an impact on their learning and on my teaching. I hope to encourage others to try flexible seating however it will work for them. I am excited to keep trying new things with my students and we are excited to use our new flexible seating for the rest of the year!
Thank you all so much.”
