An individualized set of headphones for each of my students will enable all students to function on the same level and will encourage them to pay attention to the task at hand. A classroom is a noisy place on any day with the exchange of ideas between students and teacher, let alone just the energetic buzz of learning. "My headphones are like my own personal 'Do Not Disturb' sign." Headphones will help to keep the noise level at a minimum while keeping learning at a maximum. The use of modern day technology offers possibilities to enhance the learning and the focus of the classroom. In Literacy children can hear multiple stories being read which encourages the use of expression in the reader's voice, and supports comprehension. In math, my students use a website called Reflex Math that aligns with the school's curriculum and works on math fact fluency for all learners. It is an individualized program that meets the needs of each child and has audio tutorial sessions along the way. Without individualized headphones, the noise level in the classroom is undesirable and distracting to most students. We have seen amazing success from this program, but with headphones enabling the privacy, personal space and concentration for students, the successes will be even more powerful. I have done some research and have learned that there are specific headphones for children with noise level restrictions to protect their ears. Through many years of trial and error with headphones in my classroom I know that the cords become an issue and are what cause the headphones to stop working. The product I found from BestGot will best suit my children's needs. They come with a cloth carry bag and detachable cords making them a perfect addition to my classrooom.
