I teach art for the all students KG-4th grade in our school. Currently my students have manila papers, crayons and colored pencils to work with. With a very limited budget and supplies we have been able to create some beautiful works of art, however, the students love art so much and I want to give them opportunities to experiment with different mediums to learn different art techniques. I have requested colors and supplies to teach my students fun and easy printmaking techniques. The easy printmaking technique is one of the most exciting art experiences for elementary school students to learn while having fun and to help them improve their creativity. These materials would provide much needed help so my students can be exposed to various methods of creating art when they learn the easy printmaking technique (Monotype printmaking, Styrofoam printing, simple block printing, relief printmaking and more). Students will learn about negative and positive spaces, relief, and stencils. These supplies would engage them in learning about the use of different kind of recycled materials (newspapers, old magazines, yarns, clothes material, leaves, wild flowers and more) to create wonderfully creative pieces of art. With acrylic colors, students will learn about the color theory; mixing colors to create shading and different layers of printmaking techniques. These materials will make a huge difference in my students’ art experiences and help them physically, mentally and emotionally when they see the amazing results of their printmaking artwork.
