With the addition of the Samsung tablets in our ESL classroom, we will be one of the lucky non-homeroom class that has access to such technology. My students will be able to access apps that reinforce skills and enable higher level learning. Having a tablet in the English Leaner's hands will open a pathway to education and individualize their learning experience for students who are kinesthetic and visual learners. The technological tools will also become a tool that will help create more authentic learning experiences in the classroom as well as bridge the gap in this twenty first century world where the students keep abreast to be successful in an advanced technical world. My English Language Learners will be able to work in centers with the Samsung tablets to help them with reading, listening and writing. Furthermore, they will be able to create both independent and collaborative projects to show true understanding of concepts which have been taught previously. I will use the Samsung tablets to customize instruction to match my students’ needs. In addition, I will provide examples of the four content subject (language arts, math, social studies and science) lessons from Nearpod which enable students to learn at their own pace. Beginners might use translation tools or online picture dictionaries to aid comprehension, while more advanced ELLs can use electronic dictionaries without graphic support.
