My students need books of all interests. Students will take home a book every night, Monday - Thursday. With the help of their parents they will read or listen to the book being read to them. I have plastic folders that they put their books in so that they learn to take care of it. Most of my students are eager to see what new book they will get to take home. I have had parent helpers come into class to help manage the routine. The parents have also expressed how appreciative it has been to have a book sent home everyday. For some parents the library is too far of a walk. Providing books brings the joy of reading to their house.
