  • Implementation of Conscious Discipline

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous support. We have loved using all the things that you provided for our classroom.

Each morning, we start the day with a class agreement during our morning meeting. The class chooses the agreement, and it is something that will work to improve our classroom. The students enjoy making the agreements and working to do them. To symbolize the agreement, the students put their heart-shaped rocks, which they got to pick themselves, in the safekeeping box. This symbolizes to the whole class that they will work on the agreement. Right now, I am the class safe keeper and promise the class each morning that I will keep them safe.

The students also love using the wooden tree and post it for our kindness tree. Whenever someone in the class does something kind for another, the other person gets a sticky note, writes what they did, and puts it on the kindness tree for everyone to see. At the end of the week, I read all the notes, and we have a discussion. It is a great way to wrap up our week.

Again, thank you for supporting this classroom. With your help, I have been able to incorporate so many positive activities that bring my students together.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsell

  • Small Group Table

    Funded Sep 28, 2022

We absolutely love our new kidney table. We use it daily for small-group math and reading instruction. It is a big and beautiful safe space for all my students. Each student has enough space to spread out and enjoy what they are learning.

When my students saw the new table set up after coming back from Thanksgiving break, they could not believe their eyes. They were so excited to sit at the table for the first time. They could not get over how much space they had. It was so fun seeing their excitement.

My next steps for my students are to meet with them more to hit the standards that they need to work on. We also have space at our new table to use manipulatives so they can do the much-needed hands-on learning that is necessary for success. Thank you for making all this possible.”

  • Charlotte's Web for 1st Grade

    Funded Apr 29, 2022

My students were so excited to receive these books. Thank you so much for your donations. These books were purchased for an end-of-year reading unit for last school year.

As a class, we read Charlotte's Web. I projected the book, and students followed along as I read. Each day, we read one to two chapters. After we read, I asked the student's comprehension questions and did an activity. Each activity was different and reviewed a reading skill we worked on throughout the school year.

After we finished the book, we watched the movie. We compared the book to the movie as a class. My students enjoyed this unit, and I plan to do it yearly. Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Literacy Supplies

    Funded Aug 10, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. My students have been able to be successful this year because of you. They have loved all the new items we have to use for literacy.

One of the things my students have enjoyed the most are the sight word games. We play them weekly in small groups and my students light up when they see me get it out. The popcorn sight word game is a class favorite and it has helped students learn the words they need to read and write.

Another class favorite is the new white boards. The white boards I had last year were broken and written on. They have loved having the clean new ones. It has made all subjects so much easier. Thank you!”

  • Inclusive Classroom

    Funded Apr 6, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. Our classroom is a wonderful place to learn because of your help. My students love being in my room because it is inclusive, organized, and calming.

This year, I decided I needed to update my room. I wanted a space for my kids where they are excited to learn. I strive to have every student in my classroom feel welcome. I have been told by most of my students this year that they love being in the classroom.

When the students walked in the classroom there faces lit up. They were so excited to have such a welcoming place. All of my students enjoy the rainbows, affirmations, sign language, and calming colors. I would not have been able to create such a place without your help. Thank you!”

  • Memorable Book Study

    Funded Apr 14, 2021

The students were so excited to receive there very own copy of Charlotte's Web for our end of year reading unit. We enjoyed the book together each day the last few weeks of school. Reading time was most looked forward to by the students because of your help.

Each day, we would start with reviewing what we read. Then, we would enjoy one chapter of the book together. Many students would even volunteer to read the book. After reading the chapter, we would answer questions and do an activity about what we read. We made crafts and puzzles. We used a lot of different reading and comprehension strategies.

At the end of the unit, I transformed our room. The students came in and were taken to the farm and fair. We watched both movies and were able to compare them. Many memories were made.

Thank you so much for supporting our classrooms. We couldn't have made this unit as special without your help. I cannot thank you enough!”

    Mrs. Paulsell

  • Independent Center Materials

    Funded Jul 28, 2020

My class loves the new resources. We use them daily. Our district started the year with a hybrid model. I was worried about how my students would learn with hands on materials at home. I immediately started brainstorming ideas with my teaching partners.

We found a great resource that will make it possible to give each student independent centers. We just needed money to make it happen. With your help, each student was able to have 10 reading and math centers that they learned how to do at school then take home and use for their own learning.

My students were so excited to get all of the resources to make learning more fun and engaging at home. I was also able to add multiple centers so that they didn't get bored. Thank you for helping me make this year easier for my whole class.”

  • Literacy Resources

    Funded Jul 14, 2020

My class loves the new resources. We use them daily. Our district started the year with a hybrid model. I was worried about how my students would get all the activities and information they needed for their at home days. I immediately started brainstorming ideas with my teaching partners. We thought a binder with sections and independent centers would be perfect for our students.

Each student was able to get a binder to organize their work. They have folders for each area of our learning. I was also able to include supplies they needed for math and reading centers.

My students were so excited to get their binders and their parents were happy to have a resource that kept their child organized. I was also able to add multiple weeks of activities to the binder so that I wasn't making copies every week. Thank you for helping me make this year easier for my whole class.”

We use our classroom rug a lot for whole group instruction. I struggle everyday to fit every student on the rug. Some of my students have to sit at their seat during instruction because there just isn't enough room for us all. A bigger rug would encourage a positive classroom environment, everyone would be able to easily share their ideas during cooperative learning times. Wobble stools will be used at the small group table in my classroom. My students are very active and need to be able to move and without interrupting instruction and these stools can make that possible. The stools also provide stability and flexibility unlike regular stools. My students will be more comfortable learning using these stools.
