  • Bring STEM Materials to Our Classroom!

    Funded Jan 30, 2018

Thank you so much for the wonderful STEM materials! My students were so excited to add some awesome tools to our STEM station in the classroom. Students have loved having the time to create and explore different designs using all of the different materials. In the morning we often take 10 minutes to do a stem challenge where I challenge students to create an object using the material assigned to their group. The outcomes have been amazing. Thank you again for all of the wonderful materials that you have added to ours classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barbadoro

  • Materials for Student Engagement

    Funded Jan 3, 2018

My students were so excited to use these new materials in my classroom. We have incorporated new math games and centers to practice our multiplication and division facts using the materials that this project has provided. Student engagement in whole group lessons has improved because of the wonderful paddle whiteboards we received. I hope to continue to utilize these materials by using them in small math intervention groups and creating more Center games for students to practice third grade skills. Thank you again for you generous donation, my students appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barbadoro

  • Bring the STEM Fields into Our Classroom!

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students use these materials daily for building challenges at indoor recess or for free creation time where they can create their own design. It is a great break for students to socialize and collaborate during this time.

When they first saw the materials their faces lit up and were so grateful that someone thought of them when they donated these materials. I plan to use these materials even more in the future to help us with our science and engineering lessons.

Thank you again for your amazing donations. My students really appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barbadoro

Before the winter break I challenged my students with a small STEM activity and their creations were amazing. They were critically thinking and creating, while socializing in a focused way. I want to provide them with more of these opportunities so that they explore the fields of science, technology, engineering and math through their creativity. These STEM activities will provide hands-on and minds-on learning for the students. Making math and science both fun and interesting helps the student to do much more than just learn. I'm requesting LEGOS, Magnetic Blocks, Molecules, and Brain Flakes that will be paired with task cards for students to create different structures, or objects. These materials will also be used during free creative time where students can create based on their own imaginations. I have also requested straw builders where students will be able to build larger structures such as houses, forts, buildings and more! The storage containers I requested will help the students keep the materials organized and keep them easily accessible. Teaching STEM in elementary grades opens the door for students to become tomorrow’s movers and shakers. The students in my class are our future engineers, microbiologists, mathematical technicians and beyond. They deserve to have these opportunities to explore!
