  • Classroom Organization & Materials for Successful Math Learning

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much for funding the resources for our math classroom! It has helped our centers and technology center run very smoothly!

We use all the materials everyday, our new computer cart houses our computers and has streamed our technology organization.

The pouches, dry erase markers, and erasers help us to organize our center games and keep students in the classroom independent during center time. The stools have increased our seating options for small group time and provide students with flexibility to sit in different centers in the classroom.

    We appreciate the generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Barbadoro

Thank you so much for this subscriptions to these magazines. In class this year we utilized them to complete fun activities, recipes and more! The informational magazines became a huge part of our non-fiction unit of study where students needed to see different types of print besides books such as magazines, news articles, and newspapers.

Our favorite was to use these was during independent reading time, students liked to choose these as their independent reading material and loved when new magazines arrived.

Before the winter break I challenged my students with a small STEM activity and their creations were amazing. They were critically thinking and creating, while socializing in a focused way. I want to provide them with more of these opportunities so that they explore the fields of science, technology, engineering and math through their creativity. These STEM activities will provide hands-on and minds-on learning for the students. Making math and science both fun and interesting helps the student to do much more than just learn. I'm requesting LEGOS, Magnetic Blocks, Molecules, and Brain Flakes that will be paired with task cards for students to create different structures, or objects. These materials will also be used during free creative time where students can create based on their own imaginations. I have also requested straw builders where students will be able to build larger structures such as houses, forts, buildings and more! The storage containers I requested will help the students keep the materials organized and keep them easily accessible. Teaching STEM in elementary grades opens the door for students to become tomorrow’s movers and shakers. The students in my class are our future engineers, microbiologists, mathematical technicians and beyond. They deserve to have these opportunities to explore!
