  • Fitness Bullseye

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Our school received the Bulls Eye projects. Without sponsors like yours, our school programs would suffer greatly. We would not be able to instruct our students with a variety of learning tools.

Archery is a skill that most schools can not offer due to the equipment being very costly. My co-teacher and I received the training, but were unable to provide the instruction to our students without the equipment.

The students loved having the opportunity to be able to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow. It allowed us to reach a variety of students in a non traditional physical education class. The students loved the experience and were excited to have the opportunity.”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Schneider

  • Cycling in Houston Weather

    Funded Oct 4, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations. The trainers were a great addition to our cycling program. With Houston's crazy weather, the trainers allow our students to continue riding rain or shine! They were so excited to be able to ride on the days its been raining. We were fully prepared for the Tour de Northside Bike Ride that we participated in last weekend. In the past, our students struggled obtaining the mileage they needed to complete rides. Now we will be able to ride no matter what obstacles are in our way.

    Thank you so much!!

My school has undergone many changes throughout the past several years. Transitioning from a school that educated students in the Star of Hope program to a magnet school focused on providing an enriching health science curriculum in a community-centered way. Our campus is small and lacks adequate facilities for students to get a variety of athletic enrichment's. By beginning an archery program, it will provide an excellent opportunity for our students to show growth in a variety of ways. The model that will be taught to our students is the “The National Archery in the Schools Program". As educators, we are concerned about elevated school drop-out rates. We believe that archery can be used to improve educational performance and participation by getting our students involved in exciting school activities. Archery is known to help improve motivation, attention, behavior, and focus. These skills are vital for students to carry over into the classroom. Many of our students lack the financial resources to be able to participate in such a program. It is our goal to raise money to provide a class-set of equipment for those unable to purchase their own. It is also our goal to raise enough money to purchase the archery net that is necessary to safely conduct training exercises. By obtaining the necessary equipment, we will be able to provide our students with an additional athletic enrichment, not previously possible on our small campus.
