  • Chevron Fuel Your Classroom: Tablets for Engaging Differentiated Instruction!

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

Having technology readily available in the classroom has truly improved our learning environment. We now have more interactive, fun and engaging ways to practice reading and STEM. Programs such as Starfall, MyOn, ABCMouse, Code.org, and Reflex Math are used daily in the classroom. The tablets are used during small group work. This allows me to see 5-7 students at a time while others are engaged on their tablet, reading a book, doing a puzzle, or building with blocks. This allows me to teach to their individual needs in small group settings while others are learning independently.

My students are always excited for their time to use the tablet during class. They rotate on different programs that teach their individual needs in an engaging way. My students like the freedom they have while on their tablet exploring different programs that teach a wide range of reading, math, and STEM skills. Young students always learn best when they are having fun, and tablets have added to the fun learning environment we strive to provide for our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Luftig

  • New Headphones for New Tablets!

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

I am excited to inform you that "New Headphones For New Tablets" has been fully funded! Your generosity will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives on the 21 students that will benefit from these headphones while using tablets and computers in the classroom. I look forward to sharing pictures of my students with the headphones and tablets in use.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Luftig

We need ten tablets which will make a difference in my students’ learning and improve their school lives. Lets be honest, five year olds just want to have fun! What better way to have fun in the classroom than engaging in games and activities while learning at the same time? Being a kindergarten teacher taught me how important it is to create a fun, exciting, and stimulating learning environment for my students. Tablets will allow my students to explore educational programs such as NearPod, iReady, Code.org, Reflex Math, MyOn which will provide individualized lessons catering to each students’ learning needs. As a STEM teacher with no access to technology in my classroom it is difficult to incorporate the learning material and lesson plans necessary. It is unfortunate to see students from other schools excelling through the use of technology while my students fall at a disadvantage. I am excited by the opportunity to provide my students with technology in the classroom.
