I teach at an urban school where more than 75% of students receive free/reduced lunch. As an ESL teacher I support our English language learners, which make up about 25% of our school's population. My students come from different language backgrounds and each contribute something special to the classroom. The goal in our ESL class is for students to acquire English through context. Together we will cover tough topics like immigration and ethics while building a strong classroom community. These students are bright and full of energy to learn.
