My project is to get my students to visually understand math concepts and gain critical thinking skills. The heavy topics for the 4th grade Eureka math curriculum are place value, rounding and algorithms for addition and subtraction; solving for multi- digit multiplication and division problems, understanding fraction equivalence; order and operations; and decimal fractions. The students will be able to create visual concepts and explain their thinking through the use of math manipulatives. The materials will be used to guide their daily instruction as well as for intervention. The students will be engaged in learning and will get a chance to learn math in so many endless ways through these materials.
