I am planning for my BAS students to wet felt. By providing the raw goods and tools, I can provide a tactile/ sensory experience. I can provide an visual presentation showing students raw sheep wool ( roving) teaching them the process of fiber constructions. This project is important because students with disabilities will be able to achieve and master tasks independently. The sense of achievement will provide the student with the sense of self worth. I am planning for my general Clothing and Textile Arts class. To draft and to construct a basic tee shirt to master basic sewing machine techniques. That is where the thread comes in. They also need to paint there ideas out first. Most of my students cannot afford to purchase basic sewing supplies. My Family and Consumer Sciences budget has been drastically cut in the past year. Without the help of generous donors, we cannot afford even the most basic sewing supplies. Please help me to get my students the supplies we need for a successful FACS/CTE program.
