All Hands on Deck!
Funded Mar 20, 2023Thank you again for your generous donations. During our center time students love to use the new classroom items such as the play dough, science books and bugs. Students are rotated by groups to be able to use the items above. They love when they squeeze the play dough and look at the bugs to learn more about them.
When they first saw the materials they were all really excited. They yelled in excitement and couldn't wait to use them. I mentioned to them how these materials came about and they were happy that there are generous people out there who want them to have these materials to learn something new.
The next steps are to look at what other materials we need to expand our classroom learning so they can be more excited to learn and come to school. They have asked for more animal books, so that is something to look forward to.
From all of us, we thank you for your generosity and your big heart to help students learn.”

Celebrating Diversity
Funded Sep 7, 2022Thank you for your generous donations to ensure that my classroom library is stocked with books about Social Emotional Learning. With your donations, I have been able to talk more about emotions in my classroom because now I have books that are related to emotions and how to deal with them.
Since I teach young scholars, it is imperative that we talk about emotions and how we are feeling at a young age and on a daily basis. Students love me reading to them aloud and love that the books are relatable. Reading in my classroom is done on a daily basis. It is a way I get them to start their day and a way wind down after recess. I have a student choose a book for us to read everyday. They can't wait for it to be their turn to choose a book.
All of my students are enjoying these books. I hope to fill my library with more books and in a wide variety of genres so there are many more options.
Thanks again for your donation and your support in reaching students through literature.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Valhalla Foundation and 2 other donors. It's All in the Print
Funded Nov 10, 2021First, I want to thank you for supporting my classroom with a new printer. This school year has not been easy for teachers and students, but we are making the best of it. With your donation my students have become eager to write/type their stories and be able to print them out and display them in our classroom. The printer has allowed my students to print their stories and pictures that can accompany their reports.
When the printer arrived and I had it set up, they noticed it immediately. When I told them that the printer was donated by someone who cared about them and their education they were excited and in awe. I told them that now they would be able to type and print out their work and be published authors. The look on their faces was just incredible. They started on a new assignment that day so they can publish as soon as possible.
I believe all my students were warmed by the printer as they don't have technology at home where they can type and print any work. Just one thing can really encourage students to be better and this printer has really done that for them. Thank you again for your donation and helping me bring a smile to the face of my students.”

This classroom project was brought to life by #TeachHealthy with Nature Made.Show Me! Show Everyone!
Funded May 21, 2020I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your donations and support in providing essential materials to my classroom to improve the education of my scholars.
Using the resources this school year has changed how my students respond during class lessons. During math time, students are able to use the whiteboards and markers to show their work. As they finish their work they wait until I call them to show their answer. We then review their answers. They get to see what they respond and what their peers respond as well.
When my students saw the materials they were slightly impressed, but when I told them that they were donated to our class by donors who believed they could be successful in academics they were very impressed. They had no idea that people outside of the school could really care so much for their education. They now understood that there are plenty of great people who love to help others.
We will continue to use these whiteboards to help in other academic areas such as English and grammar. This will definitely help them improve their grammar and orthography skills.
I can't thank you enough for your support and dedication to my scholars.”
With gratitude,
Ms. T.
