A Document Camera for Thriving Third Graders
Funded Feb 28, 2012Words alone cannot really express how this document camera has made such a positive impact on my students motivation to learn. To this I thank you very much. My students love to read books with the document camera and have them projected on the class projector. They really enjoy looking at the illustrations as I read. They read as well. I also use it to share their writings with the class. They are thrilled when their writing is projected!
I also use the projector to model writing and even solving math problems. It has definitely improved learning in my classroom. My students and I are very grateful for this valuable learning tool. ”

Leveled Library for Literacy Learners
Funded Dec 28, 2011I can't thank you enough for the books. This year I moved to a new grade and I had no appropriate books for third grade. Thanks to your generosity, I now have an ample third grade library. My students were overjoyed and felt very special. They kept telling me that they wanted more books. I used to use my personal library card to borrow books for them. They are now reading independently for thirty-five minutes and they want to read more! They love the titles and take books home. Their reading has improved greatly and that is because of your gift. Thanks again!”

A LCD Projector for First Grade
Funded Jan 17, 2012My sincerest thanks for the LCD projector you allowed to be purchased for my students. It has been a wonderful, educational asset to the classroom. The students were delighted when it was first set up. They were intrigued in how it worked and were very motivated in the class lesson. My students are now able to view internet pages projected on a large screen. We are studying the continents and the students can now all view the lovely scenic pictures of the continents. We also use the projector with our document camera and we able to project books and magazines and read together. The students are reading more and the projector allows the illustrations to be enlarged. My students and I feel very special and privileged to receive this valuable gift. Thanks again!”

First Grade Writers Need Paper and Ink
Funded Jan 3, 2012I am so thrilled to have an abundance of copy paper and ink. My students have been using the paper for classwork projects and published writing. I have also used the ink for the printer to print out their published pieces and homework. The students are so much more motivated to write because they now get a chance to type their work on the class computer and print it out. The parents have also commented on their beautifully published writing pieces. These supplies have been a wonderful asset to my classroom. Thank you so much! We really appreciate it. ”

Puzzles and Games for Early Learners
Funded Jan 1, 2012My students were overjoyed when the box of puzzles and games arrived! I can't thank you enough. I can now work with a small reading group and know that the other children are actively engaged in another literacy task. They really enjoy doing the puzzles in a small group. This really helps them with their social skills as well.
The sight word puzzles are a wonderful hands on activity that has helped them tremendously with their writing and reading. They constantly ask to do the puzzles over and over again. I am so grateful for your generous gift to my students. They love coming to school and deserve to have games and puzzles. Thank you!”

Bean Bags for the Reading Corner
Funded Nov 13, 2011I can't express how much I am so grateful for the beanbags you supplied for my third grade class. They are used every single day. We use them for read alouds. Four children are allowed to sit in a bean bag while I read a story. I even have a beanbag monitor who keeps a daily record of who sits on the beanbag. The students are very motivated to listen and discuss a book.
The next time they are used is for independent reading. Students sit and read their books. They read longer and stay focused on their books because of the beanbags. They even ask to sit in a beanbag when they've finished their work. I can already tell that their reading has improved tremendously thanks to your kindness and generosity. My students even listen to books on cds on the beanbags. The beanbags are a valuable asset to my classroom environment because they make the classroom library looks so cozy and inviting. My students love to read and that is thanks to you too! Again, I am so happy and thankful for your wonderful contribution to my inspirational class. ”

Gym for First Grade
Funded Apr 29, 2011I am deeply thankful for the gym equipment. They have already made a tremendous impact on my students' motivation and academic success. You should have seen the look on their faces when they began to have a gym class. They enjoyed playing with the jump ropes, hula hoops, bean bags, balls and bats. The students never missed a day of school when gym was on the schedule. We even used the equipment during recess and shared with the other students. In gym they had relay races with the balance ball and they even played catch with the balls. We enjoyed games of kickball and baseball. I know that having gym equipment has given the students the exercise and play they desperately need and this came to be because of your kindness and generosity. ”

Leaping into Learning Centers
Funded Jan 5, 2011I am deeply thankful for the literacy centers and cd players. They have already made a tremendous impact on my students' motivation and academic success. You should have seen the look on their faces when they began to listen to the books on the cd players. They were so excited! They constantly ask me if they could listen to a story. Their listening and writing skills have shown improvement. After listening to a story on the cd, they respond by writing about the book. Some students are not only listening to the story with the cd player; They are reading along as well. The centers are a big hit as well. While I am working in guided reading groups, groups of students are working with the literacy centers. They are so easy to use, color coded and academically challenging. They enable me to give rigorous, reading lessons in a small group setting. The students thoroughly enjoy working with the centers. I can't thank you enough for helping my students become fluent readers and independent learners. They feel very special that these centers and cd players were given to them! ”

Pupils Print on Paper!
Funded Dec 17, 2010I am deeply thankful and grateful for your gift to my classroom. The paper that you supplied has been put to use daily. The students use the paper to play math games. They made groundhog stick puppets on Groundhog Day. We use the paper as stationary for writing. The students wrote reports about penguins and polar bears on the paper. They also made penguins and polar bears! The paper has given my students the opportunity to write and improve their writing skills. I also use the paper to copy their homework and daily academic skills. My students are excited for their next art activity with the paper. I have so many activities planned which would not have been possible without your generous donation. I am so happy that my students were able to benefit from the paper that was donated. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.”
