My students do not have access to technology or print-rich materials at home. The HP Chromebook laptop computers I am requesting will provide high-quality experiences in my classroom. With the Chromebooks students will be able to log into Starfall, learn how type, and do research. I want students to be about to communicate with other students in another country. Students will be exposed to having more opportunities with technology. Having new books will help to develop "emergent readers" in preschool. In Math, they will have daily practice with counting, sorting and hands on experiences with manipulatives. Parents will be invited to work with the new materials and learn new ways through technology, on how to foster children's learning and development. We will create a parent library, so that parents can check out books, technology and materials to support and develop children's growth at home. We will also host preschool family night, so that we can provide more opportunities for everyone in the family to grow and learn together! I'm also requesting a variety of reading collections including Lakeshore Nonfiction Sight-Word Readers, Numbers & Counting Theme Book Library, Families and Cultures of the World, Growing Things, Life Cycle, and Farms Book libraries. We're asking for hands-on activities and puzzles such as Fishing for Sight-Words, a See-Inside Sorting Bucket, a See-Inside Sorting Bucket, and Sight-Word and Dinosaurs puzzles. The manipulatives will help students with one-on-one correspondence. I want them to create graphs and patterns. Students will learn how to focus on memory and increasing their ability to concentrate for longer periods of time. We want to create a technology, math, reading and puzzle center in our classroom so that students can have free choice with the new materials every day.
