The use of highlighters, pens, and pencils are a daily constant in my room. Reading and highlighting words and phrase unknown to my students helps them focus on wht the need to learn. When they don't have the material to use it puts stress on the child. Not having a refrence point to refer back to. But if they have hightlighted, underlined or sticky noted the place of interest learning is less stressful. Being able to fix your mistakes with a simple eraser with out having to start over again helps the flow of thinkers. I've seen it happen many times I'll just start over and throw away the paper. So by providing these supplies to the student they will be able to produce quality work in a stree free environment. They can come to class knowing the instructional materials are there for them to facilitate their learning.
