Technology to Teach Speech!
Funded Sep 23, 2021I cannot thank you enough for you generous donation. The students I work with have a range of speech and language disabilities and diverse learning styles. With you donation, I have been able to use technology to meet the unique speech and language needs of my students. My therapeutic sessions now incorporate videos, visual aids, and computer based activities which has promoted student engagement, motivation, and success.
Additionally, the use of a lap top has supported data collection and collaboration with caregivers and school professionals to promote student academic, emotional, and social well-being. Again, thank you so much for your donation.”

Funded Feb 2, 2019I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations that granted us wonderful adaptive tables to support all students participation in written language activities as well as bins to help keep therapy materials organized and easily accessible for students. My students are now able to write as big as they need and reach the table to allow for all students to participate in therapy. Furthermore, the storage bins help everyone to find and use therapy materials more easily.
All students were beyond thrilled when they saw the new items in our therapy room. They were so excited to write on the new tables! Some students even exclaimed, "this is so much fun." Now, when I go into a classroom to pick up students everyone asks if they can come to the speech therapy room. The majority of students who receive speech language therapy are easily discouraged by school and struggle to participate in their grade level curriculum. The tables have become a huge motivation for them. It is heartwarming to see all of my students trying their best.
Each one of my students present with a unique learning style. Writing is an essential part of our daily therapy activities. It helps promote student growth in expressive, receptive, articulation, and pragmatic language skills. Some students are discouraged by the idea of needing to actually write with pencil and paper and spend too much time erasing, worrying about spacing, or avoiding doing the work. These tables allow for a multi sensory- learning. Now all students are highly motivated to build their speech and language skills by using dry erase markers to write on the tables! Thank you again for your support and for creating a more inclusive, richer, and highly motivating educational environment for my students.”
