Play with a Purpose
Funded Sep 16, 2021First, let me take this moment to say Thank you for your generous donations to my early childhood class. My students were so excited to open boxes and start exploring. I was able to use each manipulative in a variety of ways that matched our learning themes to increase a positive hands on experience.
During our Community Helpers theme my students were able to pretend they were doctors using the Operation game. Boy were they excited! Using this game not only helped them learn and pretend to be doctors but it also helped strengthen their fine motor , eye coordination, social and emotional skills .
The above story is just one of many on how my students were able to enjoy, learn and grow using the donations but please know that they will continue to explore all materials throughout the school year in a variety of ways.”

Creative Minds Through Art
Funded Dec 2, 2019In early childhood learning, students gasp the learning concepts much better through play and exploration. Due to the materials received my students has engaged in more meaningful art with lessons learned and the materials received. So we want to send a huge Thank you for the donations to our classroom.
Since Pre-K students need to explore their creative minds through play, they use the artcenter to draw, color, cut and paint using what comes to mind and/or the theme of the week. For example, when our theme was winter holidays I placed inspiration pictures that they could copy or they had the choice to make something of their own. One of my students decided to make Christmas symbols by looking at the pictures I had posted. He was super excited knowing that he could make a candy cane and a gingerbread man. Once dried we posted on the wall to show the class.
You see not all children are exposed or have a variety of resources readily available to them so these donations really helped my students explore and feel proud of their work. We are going to take this donations to the next level with an art gallery where the students will be able to showcase their art for the week to the class and in the hall for the rest of the school to see. They are super excited about this and ideas amongst the students have been discussed with each other. We Thank You so much!!!”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by PNC Grow Up Great® and 2 other donors.Imagination Rocks!
Funded Aug 29, 2018What a way to start this year off by opening boxes full of resources that my students can use to learn and grow!!! When the boxes arrived I talked to my class about how we got them and how it will help us throughout the year. They were so excited to get to work with their faces in a surprise state when each manipulative was presented. We explored each box and discussed what things we can make with them and boy their imagination kicked straight into gear. On one occasion we tried to make as many letters as we could and on another some students tried to build the tallest and longest tower. The team work that my four year old students exhibited was behind amazing; coming together to solve a problem. We thank you again for this generous donation into their learning future.”
