  • Projector for Physical Education

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

The moment we cam back to the multipurpose space with our new projector, and began working with groups is when I saw students fully engage and demonstrate appreciation for having a large screen again. A number of students who had who needed practice on their dance routines for physical education, came back to use it on their lunch periods as a way to see the routines clearly.

The impact this projector has had on my whole school is amazing. It was something we needed in order to gain a large visual. I am very happy to report that we have had assemblies, inside recess, Physical Education classes, Health Classes, and our whole school morning greetings each day who get access to this tool.”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Cargill

  • Physical Education Needs Technology Too!

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

These last few months with the iPad have changed my approach to PE. I am truly greatful for all of your generous donations so my students can have access to technology.

We have used the iPad to project dance videos onto the wall so all students can engage and follow along with the steps. Students use the iPad during moments of breaks from PE to engage In a nutrition learning game or guided yoga. Students are given assessments through the iPad to quickly gather their responses to a question by holding up a barcode. Students have looked at videos of themselves doing a skill and made adjustments to their skills. Students have started to make deeper connections to their skills in pe using the technology.”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Cargill

My students need an apple iPad as a way to visually see videos of locomotor movements and other skills. This will be utilized in small groups at stations in order to analyze their movements and skills. It will allow for them to provide feedback and to make proper adjustments. With only 45min a week of physical education we need to get the most physical literacy out of every minute. My students are eager to become more physically literate. The use of an iPad will take the students to the next level of analyzing their skills. They will be able to utilize video as well as applications through this technology giving them an advantage during their work with small groups.
