  • Classroom Storage Wars

    Funded Nov 14, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity. We were so excited to receive our storage shelves and bins. My students enjoy being able to just grab their bin with all their class materials with ease. They also love the fact that classroom is beginning to have a nice learning appeal to it instead of having brown moving boxes all over the room. Having the caddies filled with daily supplies has also cut down on the movement and distractions in the room. My students were shocked when they arrived and everything they needed for class was at arms reach.

We appreciate you funding our project and providing our classroom with needed materials and helping us get back to a "normal" state again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lamanoco

  • Closing Gaps in Science

    Funded Nov 2, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity. We were so excited to receive our books and other supplies! My students enjoy getting lost in a good book. These books will give my students a better connection to the topics that we learn about in my science class.

We are thoroughly enjoying reading the books on animals and love looking at the pictures. We also love the books on how things are made. It gives the students a great insight on different topics.

We appreciate you funding our project and providing our classroom with needed materials and helping us get back to a "normal" state again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lamanoco

  • Science is Hands-On

    Funded Oct 24, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students and I were so happy to have gotten our project funded and even happier when we got our supplies in!

They were so excited and curious about all of the activities that we spent one class period just discovering with each tub. They were fascinated to be able to see and touch examples of the 3 different types of rocks when we had our rock unit.

Before our state test on science, I plan to have my students rotate through stations with activities from each of the tubs.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lamanoco

My students come from low income, and/or single parent homes. Many have been displaced from HurryHarvey. And due to Harvey our school has had to move from our main campus to another campus with very little resources. Science is hard to understand without the concrete learning that happens with hands-on activities. It is vital for them to see how things work in Science with examples of the topics we are learning. By donating to our project my students will learn and thrive in Science and will greatly improve their understanding and competency in scientific methods. I try to give my students every opportunity to have hands on labs and experiences, but it can get very costly. Asking the students to bring in supplies or money to help defray the cost, can put more pressures on their households. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!!!
