The Beat Is the Heart of Music!
Funded Feb 22, 2024There are not enough words to express my gratitude for your generosity! Students and I have really enjoyed learning and playing the instruments. Students have been able to demonstrate their learning using the xylophones provided.
We have explored music reading and playlongs to popular songs. Students have also even created there own compositions using the xylophones. Students have also expressed understanding and enjoyment of creating and performing music skills with these instruments.
Students and I are beyond thankful for your support in this project. Not only was it monetary but it was hugely impactful! And that is what is most important for student growth and learning!”

Drumming Up Growth Mindsets!
Funded Aug 17, 2021Student at Carver are super excited to use the materials that were donated! When I told them about the materials we had an unboxing and I explained what each were and we tested them out. Students have never seen or heard of the hand chimes or electric drum pad and were very intrigued.
We went over proper instrument care and playing position before using. Students have used the hand chimes to perform twinkle twinkle little star for our virtual fall winter showcase in December. With second grade I introduced our drum circle experience and received rave reviews of that lesson from teachers and students.
So currently students are preparing for our virtual winter music showcase. Some fourth grade classes are learning Carol of the Bells using the hand chimes and Orff instruments. And it is super exciting seeing a bell ensemble come together. Students are encouraged by the music they are able to create with all the provided materials. On behalf of the students at Carver Elementary and myself words can not express our gratitude and appreciate your generosity. So where words fail our music will speak!”

Keyboards For Success!
Funded Oct 17, 2019The students at Carver Elementary are so thankful for the keyboards that were donated! Students have be using the keyboards to practice rhythms and composing their own melodies. Students also have had the opportunity to explore the various sounds that are available on the keyboards.
Students were super excited when they initially saw the keyboards. Many students expressed their personal experiences playing piano or keyboard and shared what they knew how to play or practice at home.
We are about to begin centers in the music room and I will introducing the keyboards in the center rotations. I am planning to have students figure out the melody of a well known song( game called Mystery Melody). Students will use note and rhythm reading skills to figure out the melody they are playing.
It has been an exciting adventure incorporating keyboards in music class at Carver Elementary. As the musical journey continues throughout the school year I am eager to use the materials donated to enhance the musical creativity of the students at Carver!”
With gratitude,
