  • Script It, Print It, And Present It!

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

I write to express my sincere gratitude for your generous donation of classroom supplies. Your kindness will make a huge difference in my students' learning experience.

These supplies will be used to assist in their creation of e-books, news scripts, character diaries, and collaborative story writing.

Thanks to your support, my students now have the necessary tools to develop their writing skills in fun but challenging ways. This will allow their creativity to flourish and create wonderful projects and presentations.

On behalf of my students, I would like to say thank you. Your generosity is inspiring and I am grateful for your commitment to special needs classrooms.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davis

  • Identity: Me, Mine, Ours

    Funded Jun 3, 2023

Thank you so very much for your donation. More importantly, I appreciate your commitment to and belief in classrooms having books that reflect the lives of the students who are reading them.

Educating our youth is a community endeavor. Thus, I am honored to know that I have people like you supporting me, my classroom and my students.”

  • Read Ye, Read Ye, Let's Read All About It

    Funded Mar 3, 2020

In Twelfth Night Shakespeare wrote, I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks," this expresses perfectly how grateful I am for your support of my classroom and the education of every student who will read these books--now and in the future.

Indeed, the books will make a huge difference in the daily-and future-lives of these young people! Independent reading will be more culturally relevant, engaging and educational. Ultimately, these books will help the students become better readers. Hopefully, they will ignite a passion for reading and contribute to each student becoming life time learners.

Absolutely, your generous donation has the power to empower and change the course of a young person’s life. I give my heartfelt thanks for your help with this project and your hope in my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davis

  • Book-Making and Beyond

    Funded Feb 14, 2018

This year the students embarked on many project based learning opportunities. This project gave them the opportunity to create books on Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. The printer helped these books come to life with vivid color photos of pyramids, artwork, and pictures of kings and queens.

The students enjoy having their papers printed in color. The color printing of their projects provides a sense of pride and inclusiveness because most other students' assignments are displayed in color. Their projects appear on the hallway and classroom bulletin boards in outstanding colors, rich hues and tones. In fact, the students want every document either printed or copied on our new all-in-one printer.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davis

  • For The Love Of Reading!

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

Thank you for your generosity. You are the reason my students can participate in literature circles with books that satisfy their reading levels and interests. Independent reading is a daily activity that my students cherish. They want to read and I am delighted.

Each Friday, they arrive at school with a weekly reading response based on the books they are reading. One student has given a book talk to the class; he desires to become an author. Our diverse classroom library is so valuable to feed his and the other students dreams. These books permit them to experience the different genres of literature available.

I have taught plot structure and theme. As well as, close reading, inferencing, and summarizing skills. Each of these skills are necessary for academic and careen success.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davis

My students love to read and want to do book clubs, however we do not have the books to begin and sustain the clubs. These books will be the start of our classroom library and the books we use for book clubs. Of course, students will be able to read these books in class and may "borrow" them to read at home at their leisure. These books will help them become life time learners, travel the world as they turn a page and feed their curiosity about life, other cultures, and teach them that our humanity transcends place, journey, and dreams.
