I have a passion for Physical Education and teaching! My students need to move more and the only way they are motivated to do so is when they are having fun! All of my students LOVE music! What better way to get them moving then to have THEM play music! I recently went to a professional development class about drumming and was really interested in incorporating it into my Adapted PE classes. I want my students to pound on their drums and have the time of their lives moving without even realizing how hard they are working! Recent studies have shown that drumming is not only a great fitness activity, it also provides students with a positive outlet to help them to have less behavioral issues, do better in school and to be less anxious and happier too. I also plan to incorporate the drums into inclusion classes so that my students can participate with their peers in a large group lesson. Win, win, win! Our school budget has dramatically been reduced each year. My hope is that you will support my students so that they can have access to a new and innovative way to become healthier, more successful and happier students. Thank you!
