All Students Can Read
Funded Apr 10, 2019Thank you for the Google Chromebooks. My students are so excited to use the new technology in our classroom. With these computers, the students will be able to research topics of interest to them. For my students just beginning to learn English, these computers will allow them to work on their English while continuing to expand their knowledge in different content areas. My struggling readers will be able to go on various sites such as Myon and improve their reading comprehension as well as their love of reading. All my students will be able to use these computers to test on books they have read independently. These Chromebooks will be a great help in my classroom.”

Bringing Wonder To Students
Funded Oct 17, 2018Thank you so much for bringing the love of reading to my students. My students eagerly wait for our read aloud time so they can continue with our "Wonder" book. Because of you, my students are able to follow along as I read to them. This reading strategy has been shown to greatly increase a child's reading comprehension. I have many ESL students and this is a wonderful way for everyone to grow as a reader and English speaker! We were also given numerous graphic novels and low level/ high interest novels. This has been such a thrill for all my students to have books on their level which they are excited to read. I have seen a greater enthusiasm for silent sustained reading time. Thank you for remembering my students.”

Funded Dec 20, 2017I want to thank you for all you have done to promote the love of reading in my classes. I wish you could have seen the faces of the children as they walked in to the classroom and saw all the beautiful books. Immediately they were asking to sit down and begin reading. My classroom is filled with students at all reading levels, and it was exciting to see each student had a book on their reading level. It was kind of funny when I had to get on one of my reluctant readers because he was reading the book instead of listening to me! We all had to stop and smile. Thank you for reaching out and thinking of my wonderful students.”
