My goal is to create a classroom that includes all students in the learning process and provides them with the materials that can enhance their mathematics education. As a teacher, I have to be sensitive to the fact that students have different learning styles. Some students are tactile learners and enjoy working with manipulatives, while others become more engaged when given creative license. This is why I am kindly requesting a variety of office supplies and art supplies for my classroom.
Paper will be used by the students to take notes during lessons, jot down ideas during brainstorming activities that allow students to consider the real-world uses of mathematical concepts, or create works of art that illustrate mathematical ideas. The organizational materials will allow me to maintain an academic environment that gives students easy access to the supplies they need to participate in the learning process. These supplies include rulers, protractors, color pencils, markers, mini whiteboards, or worksheets.
