Book Baggies for First Graders!

After finding about our project being funded, I told the students I had a surprise for them. I told them this surprise was donated to the class as a gift! The students were so surprised that someone bought a gift for our class. They were so excited. I had them guess the surprise; however, none of them guessed correctly!

In the following weeks I received a package in the office. I was so excited to see the Book Pouches so nicely wrapped in the box. Later that day I printed out labels with the students names on them to place in the front of each Book Pouch. The next day I told the students that they would be getting their surprise! The students were so excited to receive their new resource! Students shouted "YAY! this is so COOL!" Another student was so happy because his Ziploc Book Pouch broke the other day. The students were so eager to put their books in the Book Pouch.

We've been using these pouches every day for reading lessons. Also, students bring them home for reading assignments. Parents have come up to me saying their child was so excited to show them their new Book Pouch. Parents were so grateful for how organized and sturdy the Book Pouches were and that they wouldn't get ripped in their backpacks.
