Kindergarten iPad Charging Station
Funded Sep 29, 2022First off, thank you so much for your donations! We were in such a need for a storage space for all our new iPads. We didn't have a safe space to store our devices. And it was really difficult to charge all of them all at once, not to mention the concerns for safety with all the charging cables left out in sight! Thanks to your donations, we have a safe space to keep our iPads nicely organized! It also gave more independence to our students as they know where to get their devices and where to return them.
Even though we ask our students to bring in their own pair of headphones to use with iPads, it is not always possible for some families to provide them. And without them, it was really hard for students to hear the instructions read to them in the apps that they are using on the iPads. A lot of the times, students are working independently on these devices at their own pace, and it gets distracting for others when they are not using headphones. Thanks to you, students are now more focused than ever when they are using these iPads.
Thank you again for your donations and funding this project! I cannot thank you enough for it!”

Funded Dec 27, 2019Thank you so much for your donations. My students were so excited to see the new math resources! They just couldn't wait to try the different materials and learn to use them. They got to each make their own rekenrek, by counting off and putting the beads on the pipe cleaners. And we are using the new math materials daily to solve word problems during our Problem of the Day. These new materials really have made our math time so much more engaging! We just cannot thank you enough for all of your generous contributions!”

ABC - Foundation for Reading!
Funded Nov 16, 2018Thank you so much for the alphabet books that you have donated to us! My students are having so much fun reading those books. As we were reading those books as a class, my students listened to each letter sound and looked for things that start with that sound. The books made it fun and engaging for my kids to make connections between letters and letter sounds. They were also great books for partner reading, and the kids played the "I Spy" and "Guess What's Next?" games with their reading partners. The students especially loved the AMNH Alphabet Books, which introduced lots of new animals to our kids.
Thank you again for making our reading time so much fun and exciting!”

Funded Sep 7, 2018I have to say that having the wobble stools and yoga ball chairs in our classroom has made a huge difference! Students get to pick their seat and take turns using them along with a few other options we offer such as bumpy cushions, lap desks, and scoop rockers. Now students have multiple options to choose from, and they are able to stay on task better. They feel comfortable moving around in their new seating options, and all my students are excited to have them. They cannot stop talking about it! They have been sharing about their new seating options with their families and they are enjoying it so much.
Thank you so much for your donation.”

Family Fun of Building and Acting Out!
Funded Nov 14, 2017We are very grateful to have new resources in our classroom. With the newly added building materials such as Magna Tiles, table blocks and engineering centers, students are having the opportunities to be creative and bring their imagination come to life! We have read many emergent storybooks in the beginning of the school year, and students made props to act out these stories with the new building materials. Some made houses to act out The Three Little Pigs. Some made bridges to act out The Three Little Billy Goats Gruff. Others decided to make chairs and beds for the story, Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
After exploring the new building materials, we invited the families into our classroom so that they could also be a part of this activity. They were thrilled to see their children so engaged in their learning with these new resources.
We will now be using these resources for our new Social Studies unit, Geography, People and the Environment. They will learn about what makes a community and build community buildings with these building materials.
Thank you again for making such a wonderful learning experience happen in our classroom!”

Funded Oct 18, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation. We start our kindergarten year off with reading emergent storybooks, and you made it possible for us to be immersed in them!
We first read the books over and over again to make them into our Old Favorites! Students then brought these stories to life by acting them out and they loved it!
This experience as emergent story readers will set our students up for the next reading challenge! The confidence that they gained as story readers will prepare them to read different kinds of books. Students will now be reading leveled books, and start their reading adventures as a more conventional reader.
We cannot thank you enough for helping us have such a wonderful reading experience! We truly enjoyed reading all the storybooks that we received.”
