I have three slant boards in my third grade class and we rotate the use of them. The children enjoy using them and a few students with significant vision issues consistently ask to use them stating that “It just seems to make it easier to do.” Slant boards are not only beneficial for reading and can greatly improve handwriting, but can also help students with limited dexterity hold books in the correct position. I believe if ALL students in our class had access to slant boards all the time, it would decrease visual stress and improve overall learning!
