An Easel for Learning!
Funded Jan 9, 2020I want to thank you for your very generous donation to our classroom project for my students! My students were very excited when the Easel arrived and even more excited that they could use it! In my classroom, we use both whole group, small group, and one-to-one teaching! We are at the carpet in a whole group at least twice a day. We have morning meeting at the carpet and mini lessons where we focus on certain concepts! Having an easel helps keep my students engaged in lessons!
My students have are able to practice their writing on the easel with dry erase markers. They are also able to use magnetic letters to make their name and numbers to practice counting. I am able to use the easel to write a daily morning message for my student to let them know what our day will look like!

Funded May 6, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project!! The gift cards have been so useful during remote learning and continue to be since being back in the building. When schools closed in the Spring, we were left with little time to plan. We were not able to get back into the building to retrieve resources. These gift cards helped me to plan, purchase, print and send appropriate activities to the families.
Take a look at the pictures! You will see different activities I purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers! I was also able to purchase diplomas, programs and certificates for my students virtual graduation! I made folders so they all had hard copies just as they would have had it been in person!

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project. Your donation helped me effectively get activities to my students homes. When schools shut down in March, there was very little time to prepare and set up learning in the home. Technology alone does not benefit my students. They need hands on activities such as coloring sheets and gluing and pasting.
Your donation allowed me to purchase the necessary ink and paper to create and print activities to mail to my students home. The activities were all based on our current curriculum and also addressed their individual IEP goals (including literacy, math, fine motor, etc). I was also able to create a graduation folder for each child. Having a virtual graduation was different, but I did my best to give the families keepsakes as if it were in person. I made special programs and also printed and laminated diplomas and moving up certificates.

Funded Oct 25, 2019My students and I would like to thank you so much for your generous donation and kindness! When the listening center arrived, my students were so excited!! My class loves books and they love story time!!
Having this listening center has given my students a new way to listen to a story and also increase their love for reading! It has also helped increase their independence, which is a goal we work on every single day in my classroom! They each have their own book and are able to turn the pages by themselves when they hear the turn signal through their headphones.
This listening center is used daily during out learning center time! Thank you again for your incredible generosity!!!!”

A Safe Place for All!
Funded Oct 12, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation for comfy chairs for our calm down corner! This space is utilized every single day in the classroom. It's a safe spot for the children to go if they're feeling sad, angry or just need a break. The kids were so excited when they saw the new couches and chair! They ran to sit on them! We enjoy sitting in the calm down area with the students to quietly read a book or go over our feelings. We have a new listening center the children can listen to as well.

Building Blocks in Pre-K
Funded Oct 12, 2019My students and I would like to thank you for your generosity and helping us get blocks for our classroom! My students were SO excited when the blocks arrived! They had to be put together and they were grabbing them to play as the staff was putting them together!!
Play is so important in the education of young children. Block play teaches students to take turns, share, work together, build friendships, increase attention span, and improves their fine and gross motor development! Playing with blocks also teaches young children the very basics of math. As we build towers, we are counting how many blocks we put on! We discuss the different sizes of blocks we need (small, medium and large). The things the children learn through block play are endless!

Fine Motor Skills Are Essential For Little Ones’ Independence!
Funded Aug 14, 2019These materials have been so helpful with the start of our school year! My students love them! I am able to use them during center time in small groups. 2-3 children use the sensory table at a time. Currently, we have fall colored shredded paper in our table! There are number blocks hidden inside and the students have so much fun finding a block and matching the numbers!
The fine motor boards (the pre-writing board and the color match board) have been so helpful to assist our students with holding writing materials. This is a huge step to learning to write and it's fun! It's a change from holding a pencil and being expected to write on paper! It's more enticing and they don't even realize they are learning these pre-writing skills!
My students with special needs have a difficult time with their fine motor activities. We have to make it fun and inviting so they do not get discouraged! Thank you so much for your generous donation! You have impacted our classroom!”

Small Group Tables for Learning!
Funded May 13, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation to our project for small group tables! My students were so excited when they arrived! Change is typically very hard for my students but these tables were a very positive change in my classroom!
Prior to these tables, we had one large table that all 8 students sat at. It made it difficult to incorporate small group work. We are able to have 3 small group activities going on all at once now! For example, we can now set up a literacy table, math table, and science table. It Children have a difficult time with personal space. These tables allow them to have their own space to complete activities. These tables have allowed for greater learning in the classroom! Thank you for your contribution!”

Funded Oct 23, 2018On behalf of my pre-k class, I would like to thank you so much for your generous donation towards our project for an iPad. The iPad has contributed to many activities throughout our school day and also been a way of communication for the kids.
Our students require a great deal of support to be successful in the classroom. My students are mostly nonverbal and require visual supports to get them through their day. We have added communication apps to the iPad and our students are beginning to request! It's so difficult to understand what our kids need and want because of their language difficulties. The iPad allows them to have their own voice. For example, there are apps with pictures and when they tap the picture that shows "water" it says water. It helps them be more independent in getting their needs met. We also have great educational apps that help them learn their ABC's, colors, shapes, and numbers. There are apps that teach tracing as well. Our students are beginning to trace their names and letters on paper after using these apps!

Funded Sep 7, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation towards our classroom project for basic supplies! The donation contributed to activities we do on a daily basis in the classroom! Our students use crayons and pencils for artwork and writing each day! My students are just learning to write. Some are in the pre-writing stage of coloring, scribbling, and making lines. A couple of my students are writing their names, letters and words! The mini golf pencils and chunky crayons are great for my students with fine motor difficulties!
My students are on the Autism Spectrum and require a great deal of visual aids to help them throughout their day. The ink and paper that we received has greatly helped us provide those supports to the kids! We have been able to print pictures for their visual schedules and also provide behavior supports for transitions.
My students are just as grateful for the supplies we have received! All of these supplies helps make learning meaningful and fun! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
