3rd Grade-Almost Starting From Scratch
Funded Jul 20, 2023When I first walked into my room over the summer, it didn't feel warm and inviting and I knew I had to turn this old trailer into a magical learning place for my incoming 3rd graders. With your help, I was able to create a second home for these kids. I remember watching their eyes light up and jaws drop to the floor as they walked into their class for the very first time. I even have parents and other staff members comment how amazing the class turned out.
One of the highlights of the room is the class library. Thank you for allowing me to rebuild my book collection as well as introduce "book buddies" for the students to read with. They always say how the library is their favorite spot in the room.
My students and I are so grateful that we have people like you helping make their 3rd grade year even more special!”

Dynamic ELA Resources Through Scholastic Storyworks
Funded Sep 11, 2018The Nogowski class wants to thank you for giving us the opportunity to be able to use Storyworks within our class this year. Students have really been enjoying the fascinating articles as well as creative fictional stories. We've used the resources that accompany Storyworks subscription through out different parts of the day, including whole group, small group, and buddy reading.
What is especially helpful are the vocabulary resources that come with some of the stories. This seems to be the weekest skill for many of my students.
We will continue to use and reuse these magazines through out the rest of this school year. There are some leveled stories that will even be able to be used come next year when we look to 5th grade.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nogowski
