  • Workbooks and Mouse Clickers for Our Coding for Kids Project

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

The students at Lillie C. Evans K-8 Center want to thank you for your kindness and generosity in assisting with helping us in funding this project. The mouse clickers arrived just in time since we were down to the last five working ones. The students loved the coding instructional books and were eager to share their knowledge with their classmates. The Minecraft books were used the most because all kids are crazy about Minecraft.

Our Middle School students also enjoyed the new clickers and coding workbooks to share with their friends not just working with the younger students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brunt

  • Organizational Tools for School

    Funded Oct 16, 2019

We appreciated your support of this project. The Special Education Middle School students loved them. They used the planners to become more organized with their assignments. This helped them prepare and enabled them to be more successful in all classes in school this year. These Student Planners also assisted them to help to remembering due dates and keeping track of and recording the necessary steps to complete their work. These students often struggle academically so this was a big help and we're grateful that somebody thought enough of them to send them a gift.

The goal was reached because it helped to change this pattern and increase student success. We thank you very much for funding this Liberty City Middle School project.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brunt

  • Tools to Learn

    Funded Oct 27, 2021

Thank you for helping to fund this project. A major portion of our students come to school without supplies. So if I want the work done I need to furnish the needed equipment. Pencils are constantly breaking so they are in high demand. Mistakes are made in all subjects especially during math class so erasers are always needed. The sharpeners are greatly appreciated because they keep students seated instead of out of their seats.

Headphones came just in time and are always needed.

The posters will help teach students to recognize verbal, social, physical, and cyberbullying and encourage an environment of safety, kindness, and respect in your classroom.

    Thanks one more time.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brunt

  • School Counseling Books

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

Thank you for helping me to help others. As a first year school counselor at a small inner city K-8 school the books purchased through this project have gone to help students learn social skills, cope with emotions and grief, develop a growth mindset, and to increase their reading and fluency skills. These books are used in individual counseling sessions and in the classroom. They can be checked out by students, teachers, and or parents as needed. These books are the cornerstone of having a child friendly social-emotional counseling program. They make all the difference to my students.”

  • School Counseling Materials

    Funded Oct 23, 2017

Thank you again for all that you do to help me to help my students. Currently the materials from this project are being used to create an inspirational and motivational counselor's office and cafeteria. Some of the materials are being used around the school to create a school wide impact and message. The books that were part of this project have been checked out of the counselor's office by both students and teachers to use. With these materials many students, teachers and parents have feel the impact. These materials have made all the difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Brunt

These books and posters will help guide students to make positive choices about their behavior in and out of the classroom environment. The books I have requested will be specifically used as a part of lessons taught in a comprehensive guidance program. These books can also be used as a form of bibliotherapy in individual counseling sessions. They are intended to help to teach social skills, character education, and feelings. The Posters I have requested will be displayed throughout the school, in the hallways, cafeteria, classrooms, and front office. By displaying these inspirational posters it can help to change the mindset of the students, teachers, parents, staff, and ultimately the school. Any games I have requested are to be played in small group counseling sessions with students. Small groups are conducted for various reasons such as anxiety, grief, social skills and decision making, empowerment, and academic success just to name a few. All of these materials will help to build character education skills to elementary and middle school students from low income homes with limited role models. The materials are intended to make a marked difference in the life of these children and the futures that they can have. Please consider helping us to help others.
