My students do a lot of graphing and plotting, work with systems, convert fractions into decimals, and decimals to fractions. I would like of my students to see what the graphs should look like, and if there is an intersect point between the different lines being graphed. Sometimes its really hard and very time consuming if every calculation needs to be done by hand. By having graphing calculators for the students, they will learn how to solve by hand, and by using a calculator. I would like to have a college wall in my room, so the students are exposed to many different colleges around the United States. Most of my students come from families who have never been to college, making them the first in their families to attend college. I tell my students that they can get so many different types of scholarships, just by writing a paper saying why they would like to go to college. Although I teach middle school, I believe it is important to start talking to the students about the different opportunities they have. My students do a lot of work on their small white boards. Since the students all share the markers, the markers dry out easily. It would be nice to have enough markers for each student to use, and have a supply when they dry out.
