  • Give My Classroom a Voice!

    Funded Sep 13, 2024

I can't even express to you how beneficial this translator has been. It has been such an important tool for my students to communicate with not only me, but their classmates that don't speak their native language. It also has helped them access the curriculum, translating questions and content into their languages. Then they can speak into it and write the answers to questions in English.

Barack Obama once said if he could have any superpower, he would choose the ability to speak all languages. Being able to communicate with each other breaks down barriers, opens doors, and demonstrates how we are all more similar than different.

Thank you for this gift to my students. It makes a difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MacLean

  • "Let's Work Together" Creating a Cooperative Classroom

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for your generous donation. This is the first time the students in my inner city school have ever received new furniture. The first thing one of the students said was "they match!". What an improvement over our mismatched desks of various heights, making it very difficult to push together to encourage partner and group activities. Now the student can spread out at the tables and use the space needed to complete work. The rugs provide room for students to sit on the floor if they wish, and share stories and play games together. The ball chair is a great seating choice for students who need flexible seating choices.

You have helped me to transform my dated classroom into a cooperative "homelike" environment where students can work together, relax, and enjoy learning.

Thank you for making my students feel valued.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MacLean

My students need space to spread out and work together to make hands-on projects. They need to talk to each other and communicate, not through texting and computers but by looking at each other, sharing ideas, and trying out different strategies to create simple machines. Thank you for helping me to create a classroom that makes students want to come to school every day, and create a love of learning!
