I teach 6th grade language and 6th and 7th grade reading. My students typically sit in a chair at a table to complete all assignments. I have acquired a few bean bags that can be used for flexible seating while completing writing assignments or reading a book. When the students are able to use these items, they enjoy reading because they are able to relax and feel comfortable. Also, their writing has become more detailed and less mechanical mistakes are made. My students love to have the opportunity to have the flexible seating. I would love for all students to have that option when writing and reading!
