  • My Students Want To Read!

    Funded May 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity! The books have been read, and re-read, so many times now that the students have started to get sad that the series in ending soon. They love the naruto manga and many students who didn't enjoy reading have been reading through these books everyday! Many students said that they didn't think reading could be fun until they started to read these books. Inspiring a joy of reading is one of the best things that can happen to a student at a young age, and you were the reason that it was possible. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rowan

  • Help Us Finish Our Book Set!

    Funded May 16, 2019

Our class is so excited to finish their book series! Many of the books have been checked out and the students are flying through them! We are so grateful to be able to finish our book series before the end of the school year. Many students requested this for our donorschoose project, and even students that didn't know what it was have become interested and are starting the book series! It has inspired many students that don't enjoy reading too pick up on of these books and learn more about the world of Naruto. Thank you for bringing this joy into our classroom!”

  • Help Our New Soccer Team!

    Funded Feb 20, 2019

Our students have a new and improved attitude towards their soccer team as a whole! They feel as if they are a real team now that can practice using the "real" soccer game equipment. We are also using the goal and the balls during recess as well! Our soccer team students are using the materials to help inspire the younger students to play soccer and maybe join the team someday when they are older. The team has been taking good care of the materials and wrote their team name on everything. They were very proud to have their own special soccer balls. Thank you so much for everything! It means so much to these kids to have something that belongs to their team!”

  • Help Us Have Fresh Water!

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

The water dispenser has been such a blessing in our classroom. The students love that the water is cold, and as they say it, fresh. We have saved a lot of class time because the students no loner have to walk all the way across the school to get water. The students have decided that they want to be in charge of filling up the water jug and they have been really enjoying the responsibility. The hot water even allowed the students to drink hot chocolate when we had a very cold day and they didn't want to go outside for recess. It was a real joy and a treat!”

  • Help Us Play!

    Funded Nov 6, 2018

The supplies for our PE time have been extremely loved by all of our students here at Chavez! We finally have some nice basketballs again, which is wonderful since we just started a girls basketball team this year! The girls use them after school and it has really helped to improve their skills. The bouncy balls have started a new four-square craze and the football net has gotten a lot of students interesting in the sport! It is wonderful to see the students so active and excited for PE again. Thank you so much!”

  • A Table Of Science!

    Funded Nov 1, 2018

This table of science has become a staple in our classroom! Not only do we use it during our class science experiments and projects, but it has become helpful for our social studies and art projects as well! It is easier for some of the students to have a high area to paint their models and work on their poster boards for our presentations. It has also been great to have all the students be able to see the science experiments from their desks, instead of having to clump around the front of the class. Every has a chance to see and interact easily with the projects now. Thank you so much!”

  • Classcraft Our Students!

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

Classcraft has really inspired my students to learn through technology. They have changed their behavior in class due to the added bonus of receiving experience points or gold coins for their characters. The "quests," that we go on as a class really bring the students together and they have bonded with their teams. We have been using classcraft almost daily, and the students always request some time to go on a quest when they finish their work. They will be taking their tablets home soon and I will be having them complete quests at home as well.”

  • Help Us Keep Our School Clean!

    Funded Oct 2, 2018

Every single teacher at our school was able to get a new broom and dust pan and they all love them! The students were excited to see something new and useful in their classrooms and many have requested to have the sweeping classroom job since they arrived. It is amazing to see how clean the hallways and classrooms are now, and all it took was the proper cleaning equipment to do so. The students are so proud of their school and many of them try their best to keep it clean even without the brooms, such as picking up trash or organizing the classroom. Now that they see how clean the school can be, they want it to stay that way.”

  • Help Keep Our Classrooms Safe

    Funded Aug 15, 2018

Our students can now feel safe knowing that their classroom windows cannot be opened when they are locked with our new locks. We haven't had anyone open the windows and move things around since we started using the new locks and because of this, we haven't had to call the police to do an investigation. The students love this and feel that their school is now a safer place for them to learn and to leave their supplies overnight, such as science project materials. We are very grateful for this peace of mind.”

  • Supplies for a Title I Classroom

    Funded Jun 28, 2018

I want to thank you so much for your efforts, your donations, and your thoughts for our classroom. The supplies we have received have already been put into great use with our first science projects, our salt dough maps, and our writing assignments. My students love the feel of our classroom and have stated that it is the most inviting room they have been in for many school years. They feel safe here and that in itself it worth everything that we can do for them and that you have given to us. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rowan

My students can't afford to get the supplies they need as they run out and the district can't re-supply them in a timely manner, meaning many of my students are using supplies as I can find them or supply them myself. We could really use these items to help our classroom get more organized, as it is only the third month of the school year and we are already running out of supplies. Many of my students' parents can't afford to buy the supplies on the supply list and therefore our classroom has been mostly supplied by what little the district can provide and what I am able to get on my own. The balls would be great since right now we only have one ball in our class that we use for PE. The children want more that they can use during recess. But I don't allow them to use that one because if we didn't have that we wouldn't be able to have our PE games. The popsicle sticks are so I can put the students names on them and pick them to answer questions. The tissues are because our classroom has already run out of tissues for this school year. We've been having to use paper towels instead, and the students complained that they hurt their noses. The Expo markers would be for the students because they each have a whiteboard to use for Math and for spelling but we've run out of Expo markers for them.
