I am a 5th grade teacher at Viola Cobb Elementary in Channelview, TX and a member of AFT # AFT. We use whole brain learning strategies in our class to make it fun and interactive. We are also implementing flexible seating this year in our classroom and I am hoping to add to it as our year continues. Our school district in a lower income area and the vast majority of our students are title 1. We were also in one of the areas effected by Hurricane Harvey. Our school was not damaged (Thank God) but many of our children's homes were. I have some of the best kids in the world and I want to give them a comfortable and fun place to learn. They are incredibly resilient to the hardships that came with Hurricane Harvey and are still eager learners.
