• Printing Smiles

• Fun With Money

  This school year has been very special. Thanks to your donations my children have

  been able to purchase their own school supplies, snacks, and even gifts for their family using play money. As you can see in the pictures the items I bought for our school store brought smiles to their faces. Some splurged every week while others saved their money for bigger items. It was delightful to see them counting their money and even giving each other money. The whole experience has been terrific for me as their teacher and for them as students. Your donations have made this school year a memorable one. THANK YOU!!!”

• Notebooks for Our Futures

  My students and I would like to give you our heartfelt thanks. Every month I receive at least one new student in dire need of supplies and thanks to you I can help them. The look on their faces is priceless when I tell them that there are people out there who care for them and have donated supplies to make their lives better. Their joy can be seen in the pictures. It motivates them to do their best. This is the first time in many of them get to have a real notebook to write information in. Your kindness is making a difference in these precious little lives. • Spending to Learn

  I must begin by telling you our classroom store started as a great idea and has blossomed into something much more special for my students and myself. They were astounded when the saw all of the goodies you donated, they especially liked the cookies and Post-It notes. The cookies were such a hit that we ran out on our second store opening. All my students have enjoyed the challenge of earning money for their work and behavior. Learning to count money is a challenge they have accepted head on. They are responsible with their bags of money and anxiously await the day our store opens. They often comment on what they are saving for and even buy gifts for family members. I am deeply touched by your donation and the impact it has had on my students' life. As our supplies dwindle my students and I and I have begun donating novelties from our home to keep the store going. You have started something amazing in my class. I am sure this is an experience that will mold their lives into becoming people responsible with their money. A giant thank you to all of you from all of us. You have made this school year a memorable one.”

• Air to Think

  This fan has changed our lives! Our classroom is so much more pleasant to be in. I feel so much better knowing the air we breathe is clean. This summer like every summer here in South Florida is hot, sometimes unbearable. The fall has not been much cooler, our daytime temperatures are still in the upper 80s. Thanks to your donation our room is cooler and more comfortable to be in.

  The children and I love the way the fan looks. It is a beautiful machine. We love the way it makes our room nicer. It rotates so everyone can feel the breeze. Your donation has helped us to feel better and learn more.

• Multiplying Knowledge with Tablets

  Words cannot describe what an asset these two tablets have become to my students. We love them so much that we named the tablets "Tabbie." My students love the fact that the tablets are easy to transport around the room, they are thankful to have 2 more computers in the classroom and Tyler said that it is a state of the art electronic which is faster than the computers.

  Initially I had the idea to use the tablets for reinforcing math skills. It soon became apparent that the tablets could do much more than that for use use them for special projects, to read books, to do research, we even use them to translate words from English to Spanish for Spanish classes. The students play educational games from IXEL on them and work on educational programs our district has purchased for us like Explore Learning, FCAT Explorer, FCAT Focus.

  My class has the added advantage of having the use of what is essentially two more computers which are mobile. That means that two more students can practice Math problems on a computer. They can take the tablets to the cafeteria and work on projects after they are done eating. They can use them to work on science projects around the school and utilize the camera to document their findings. This is only a small part of what our tablets do for us. In a nutshell, the tablets have opened up a new world of learning for us and we are very grateful to Chevron for bringing this privilege to us.”
