• Water Filtration

Even though the scholars haven't yet constructed the filters, they are empowered with the tools and materials to explore the scientific principles behind water filtration, which fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This opportunity not only helps them grasp the technical aspects of water purification but also encourages innovation, as they can experiment with different methods and materials. Moreover, it cultivates a collaborative learning environment, where scholars can share ideas and work together. Ultimately, such donations lay the groundwork for future solutions to water access issues, equipping scholars with the knowledge and skills to address challenges in their communities and beyond.”

  The donation of items like chap-stick, menstrual pads, deodorant, lotion, and snacks has had a profound impact on the scholars in my class. These essential products have helped improve their personal comfort and hygiene, allowing them to feel more confident and focused during school. Access to menstrual pads has alleviated stress for students who menstruate, ensuring they can participate fully in class without worry. The snacks have provided much-needed energy, helping students stay alert and engaged in lessons. Overall, these donations have not only supported the students' physical well-being but also fostered a sense of care and community, showing them that they are valued and supported, both inside and outside the classroom.”

  Thank you for your continued support in my classroom. My scholars were thrilled to receive the new materials. In our classroom, students use books in a variety of ways to enhance their learning experience. They engage with assigned readings to build comprehension and critical thinking skills, while also referencing textbooks and nonfiction books for research and information to support projects and papers. Group discussions around literature foster deeper analysis of themes and characters, and students often use texts as models for their own writing, learning about style and structure.

  Additionally, as teachers we incorporate interactive activities involving books, making learning more engaging through games or creative projects. Illustrated books also support visual learning, especially in subjects like science and art, making books essential tools for students' academic development.”

We are able to take a quick break for snack and then get back to learning.

  Scholars were also able to create tumblers and mugs for the holidays. The mug maker and sublimation machine was really useful.
