    I want to take the time to thank each and every one of you. My students were very happy that they got new books in the library. When we received our new books students could not wait to open their books and for that, I am thankful because it wouldn't have been possible without your help!

    My students lacked books that will help them read on their reading level. These books will allow students to have books to take home and use when taking their Accelerated Reader quizzes on their computers. Students use these books during independent reading and to take home to read.

    All my students have benefited from all these books because all the books varied in all reading levels. These books will allow all students to have access to all types of books.”

  • Our Books, Our Stories, One Library

    I want to take the time to thank you from my class and me! I have seen the love of reading grow in our classroom. We were able to buy books that spark the interest of all of my students. The new books have allowed our students to have a variety of books in our library. Our school currently does not offer a library and our class library have given my students an opportunity to choose from different books such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dog Man. It also gave them cultural books. My students are now reading books that have pictures of kids that look and sound like them!

    Students read every day for 40 minutes and allowing them to have more chapter books and books at their level help them build that comprehension and fluency. These books are used for library check out and reading time. Once again, thank you from my class and I. These books have fostered the love of reading and gave my students the resources they need!”

In ordering books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and culturally relevant books, they will book they can make connections with. Our school does not have a school library and most of the students do not have transportation or time to go to a public library. That is why it is my job, as their teacher, to give them access to a library in their class. If we were to receive this books, students will enjoy reading and the love of reading will be planted.
