  • Help Us Clear the Air!

    Funded Jun 18, 2018

Due to the heat, the fans could not have come at a better time! My students were excited and we use them every day. The fans are clustered in our main instruction area and the students love it! It is just the correct height and they can adjust it to meet their needs. We also received an air purifier that keeps our air clean. Lastly, we received lapel microphones. My students are getting use to speaking in the microphones and having a great time. Our next project is to use them and showcase the activities we do in our classroom. Thanks again for your support!”

  • What's Your Code???

    Funded Apr 17, 2018

Thank you very much for Botley The Coding Robot & Action Challenge Accessory Pack. My students couldn't wait for me to take it out of the box! Students worked in pairs and needed to complete the task I presented them with, which was an obstacle course. I gave them no instructions so they needed to figure it out. All students completed the task! It was a hit! From then on, students were able to create their own codes to their courses and others were able to try it out. My future projects are to increase the length of the courses and create more obstacles. Thank you again to all the donors who have made this a reality!”

  • Inquiring Minds Need Creative Learning Activities!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you very much for the Cricut Maker. My students were amazed to see how it worked! They couldn't believe how quick it was to cut out all the whales. As for me, it was such a time saver! I could set it and it would do its magic. Not only was it beautiful and user friendly, it cut down my prep time tremendously! Students were excited to work and added their uniqueness to every card. In the future, I will continue to use my Cricut Maker to make cards, create center activities, infuse it in art projects etc. The possibilities are endless! Thank you again to all the donors who have made this a reality!”

  • Show Me The Money!

    Funded Apr 2, 2018

Thank you very much for the abundance of learning activities. My students were so excited to play the games and recreate their own store. Students used items around the classroom to set up their store and used the play money to pay for the items. Students took turns as buyers and sellers. They were able to use their knowledge of numbers, addition and subtraction. Students were highly engaged! With my new bunch of students, I will continue this activity. This was a very successful project! Thank you again to all the donors who have made this a reality!”

  • There's No Place Like Home

    Funded Oct 3, 2017

Thank you very much for the flexible chairs. My students were so excited and couldn't wait to use them! Parents have also told me how delighted their children were with the new furniture. These chairs are brightly colored and convert into stools and tables. The different arrangements are endless. Depending on the task, my students enjoy creating their flexible learning environments every day. I am hoping to add more furniture in the future. Thank you again to all the donors who have made this a reality!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Naito-Hata

I am creating a classroom which promotes an atmosphere where students feel like they are at home. Flexible seating is good for everyone. Students will be able to move these chair cubes to create spaces that encourages collaboration. Having them get together with their friends and share ideas also promotes creativity and a sense of belonging. Providing students with alternative seating options will allow them to freely choose a space that works for them. Creating a student-centered classroom is my main goal! Seeing students who are excited about learning, able to make good choices, and just happy to be in school, is so rewarding!
