Help me give my students a small but powerful laptop that is easy to transport to multiple different classrooms. This laptop will allow my students to have less disruptions during their lessons due to issues with outdated technology.

  • Bringing Math to Life with a Document Camera!

    Funded Apr 7, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my project! Because of your support, my classroom will soon receive an IPEVO document camera that I’m incredibly excited to use in my math instruction.

With this tool, I’ll be able to model problem-solving strategies in real time, showcase student work, and make lessons more interactive and accessible. I know it will greatly enhance student engagement and deepen their understanding of key math concepts.

Your generosity will have a lasting impact, and I’m so grateful for your investment in public education and in my students’ learning.

    Warm regards,”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Budhraja

  • Can We Listen to Music?

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you for your kindness in donating supplies to make our classroom warmer and better functioning. The echo dot and smart plug allows us to set timers to complete class activities to music and lets us connect to devices in our classroom (such as twinkle lights, air purifiers, and fans). My students are excited to use the compasses and rulers and explore concepts involving circles and arcs. These supplies helps them take pride in the organization of their work and learning environment.

These items have made coming to school more enjoyable for us and motivates us to better cope with the changes we have experienced since the start of pandemic. Our classroom is homier and the echo dot allows us the opportunity to be more creative in how we use our class space and time.

Thank you for donating to our classroom.”

  • Copy That

    Funded Sep 23, 2020

Wow, what a challenging school year this has been! Thank you for your kind donations and making this academic year a little easier. The printer and ink has allowed me to print lesson materials, hand write notes and draw diagrams and then share in real time via a document camera during remote teaching. The uncertainty of pandemic and school closures has shuffled students in and out of in-person hybrid learning and remote learning. The supplies you have selflessly donated has allowed my students access to consistency in learning as best as possible. The ability to print reliably has helped me create tangible portfolios to back up student data such as their grades and and actual work to ease the transition for students moving in and out of remote learning.”

  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded May 6, 2020

I am so thankful for your kind donations for these urbanears wireless bluetooth headphones. These headphones have made it easier to communicate with students and conduct remote classes over zoom. The sound is crisp and cancels out noises from outside my window, and students can now hear me more clearly. I am able to deliver instructions more easily without interruptions and students can focus on the lesson without distractions. I can also hear my students better, which was an issue since their voices were muffled at times due to having outdated devices. This helps me to better listen and attend to their needs.

Thank you for making the teaching and learning process easier during these unusual times.”

  • My Dog Ate My Homework!: Please Help Us Organize

    Funded Feb 21, 2018

Thank you for your kind donations. My students were thrilled to have new supplies to help organize their work. You have helped us create a warm, clean, and inviting environment for learning. The storage boxes helped us neaten and beautify our classroom and it is now an even more welcoming place for students to feel at ease during instruction. As I write this, students are in my room after school completing work with tunnel vision because my classroom is a peaceful and orderly space to do work in.

My students were excited to receive the staplers and paper clips because fresh supplies are motivating to keeping their belongings tidy and their notes accessible. When student have access to basic supplies, they feel encouraged to take pride in their work. I try my best to model a functioning and orderly system in my class, where markers, calculators, and supplies are stowed away in labeled bins and students know where to find them. Tissues are available so that students do not have to miss minutes of the lesson to run to a far away bathroom. Instruction runs smoothly and swiftly when we know where our things are and can acquire them quickly.

We are truly thankful for your generosity and we are delighted that our project was funded. We will continue to work on organizational skills and fostering an atmosphere where our focus is on learning. Thank you for supporting us!”

  • Can I Print in Your Room During Lunch?

    Funded Aug 9, 2017

Thank you so much for your kind donations. Your generosity went a long way to make sure my students were well-equipped to engage in instruction and motivated to work meticulously. The ink you donated allowed my students to print reports, notes for class, and express their creativity without having to worry about having colored ink or enough ink to produce what they envisioned. My students have used the wireless keyboard and mouse to control the computer attached to the projector in our room from their seats. They were able to collaborate on documents during class, by using these tools and passing them to another student while we remained focused on discussion. This has been a great method to quickly add on to a document while everyone can view it simultaneously without having to access school laptops, which are usually fickle or non-working.

My students were thrilled when the supplies arrived. We have used these supplies everyday for basic things like filling out online applications for scholarships and programs, completing academic work, and researching or utilizing web resources to solidify understanding of coursework. My students have also found creative ways to use the supplies, such as remotely accessing the computer/projector to present student work.

We are so thankful for these resources that allow us to do work without distractions. We also used these supplies recently for Parent-Teacher Conferences, where students were able to seamlessly facilitate student-led presentations of their progress and celebrate their achievements with their families. Thank you so much for your involvement in our learning!”

  • Did You Grade My Test Yet?

    Funded Aug 2, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I hope this finds you well. My students are very grateful for your kind gesture towards making this classroom and their future brighter. I know that post-its and gel pens might seem like the minimal tool but in my classroom it is an essential.

My students enjoy having colored paper and pens because to them it is a fun way to learn. With these tools and a pop of color my students sense of organization has progressed over the year. Students appreciate the color coordination because it makes finding notes easier and allows for a welcoming environment. The grid post-its that were provided to my students are greatly appreciated because it makes adding charts into their notes much easier and efficient.

When you think of a classroom you think of a brightly colored room and red apples, with the colored paper you guys provided the room screams with color. Math is usually associated with boredom and when students walk into my classroom I wanted them to think otherwise and with the help from you guys my students can now have more fun learning.”

  • Make Technology Tangible and Accessible to All!

    Funded Mar 10, 2016

Thank you for your generous donations. My students were thrilled that we received a new printer and card stock paper. My computer science students have benefited from the printer because they were able to print their code and easily exchange it with other students. They were able to draw diagrams and comment on them to help brainstorm and give feedback to each other. On some days, our Internet connection is unreliable in our school, and so having printed coding allowed students to continue working on programming projects.

My mathematics students were equally excited about our new printer and were able to print resources after school as supplemental practice for their specific needs. They created and printed math puzzles on card stock and had other groups solve the puzzles. All my students were ecstatic to have their work printed and celebrated on the walls of our classroom. Your kind donations have allowed my students to take pride in their work and accomplishments. Our classroom is now print-rich and filled with their projects.

Your generosity have given my students access to resources that some of them would not have otherwise since they do not have computers or printers at home. It has made my instruction more robust and immediate, since I can now print support documents instantly for my students use. The printer is an investment that will be used for years and I am truly grateful for this donation.”

  • I Need a Pencil!

    Funded Apr 16, 2014

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students and I were so excited when we received the supplies you donated. Fresh folders, new pens, and mechanical pencils made all the difference in motivating my students to do work. They were eager to do tasks in Geometry because they were excited to use the high quality compasses, and many of them expressed that it made geometric constructions a lot easier to do. The previous, lesser quality, compasses were hard to manipulate and caused a heap of frustration. These new supplies aided in seamless work and made teaching new topics go smoothly. Having the proper tools to accomplish mathematical tasks is necessary to building strong student comprehension.

As we got closer to state exams and we did a number of practice problem sets, the supplies helped my students stay organized. This is important to my students' learning because they crave structure and some feel overwhelmed by the amount of content they are responsible for knowing. These supplies made learning a fun and enjoyable process. By this time in the year, many students have ripped and tattered folders that are barely able to hold papers sufficiently. Something as simple as new folders and fresh post-it notes has made a magnitude of difference.

Your donations have also sparked conversations about investing in education and giving back to our community. The numerous tools you have donated have made my students feel academically empowered. They don't have to worry about missing work because they don't have the helpful supplies. The compasses, rulers, folders, pens, pencils, erasers, post-it notes, and markers were more than enough to feel like we had everything we could possibly need in class. You have given my students resources that would otherwise not be available to them. I thank you on behalf of myself and my students and want you to know that you have truly made a difference in these students' lives.”

    With gratitude,

I have been teaching for over a decade at the public high school level in Brooklyn. My goal is to push students to achieve their core math requirements and to create a hunger for higher level mathematics and STEM learning. I want my students to have the opportunity of taking Advanced Placement courses and college-level math during high school. I hope that once they leave high school, they will have already developed the critical thinking skills necessary to transition to college successfully, which can be a tough adjustment for some students. Many of my students want to embark careers in math and science fields when they get older. They are young and still molding, and I want to foster and maintain their interest.
