  • "Kente" You Please Help Us?

    It is with great appreciation that I write this letter. It has been almost two years that I have not been able to do any projects with my classes that involved painting due to the fact we had no brushes to paint with. You should see the joy in their faces when for the first time they dipped the paint brushes into the paints. I was able to teach the fourth grade about Art from the African Kingdoms and they painted their own Kente cloths. My fifth graders are able to experiment with watercolors and will be painting flowers in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe. Thank you for allowing me to bring the wonderful world of painting to these children. ”

  • "Art that Wont Stop Sticking & Gets A Licking!

    It is with great joy that I write this letter to all my donors. We have been using the drying racks now for sooo many projects. My Pre-k classes have been using collage to make a Mondrian reproduction of Boogie Woogie Broadway with construction paper and glue and guess what? The projects don't stick together anymore!! Yeahhh!!! My fifth graders are able to paint water colors without the paint dripping down the pages because there is an appropriate place to put the work to dry. The fourth graders finished their Kente cloth projects and they were excited to put their work away to dry on our beautiful drying racks. Thank you soo much once again.”
