Anchoring Learning With Anchor Charts!
Funded Jan 30, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations! My class was so excited to receive the boxes in the mail. They were smiling ear to ear when they realized how much chart paper we received along with markers and highlighter tape. We started using the chart paper immediately and we have created several anchor charts to help hang up in our classroom. We made anchor charts to use for phonics as we are started to learn about digraphs and the visual support makes learning a success. All students are always excited to use the highlighter tape in big books. It allows them to find letters and words. We will use these materials in all subjects everyday. Thank you for giving my students supplies they need that will help them with reading success.”

Writing Toward Success!
Funded Aug 22, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation! My class has been so excited for the start of the school year. They were smiling from ear to ear when I opened the boxes of our brand new journals, scissors, and crayons. Every student was given a journal to store at their seat that they will use everyday. These journals have a large space at the top of the page to allow students to draw pictures illustrating their writing. We are currently starting Writer's Workshop and these notebooks will be used as my students develop into independent writers. The crayons allow my students to bring their illustrations to life with all the colors they need. The large grip is important because the crayons are sturdy and will not break. Finally the scissors allow us to create projects and learn as they cut and paste. Thank you for these supplies that are so important for my kindergarten students and will be used everyday!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity! My students are so very lucky! Math is a subject many students look forward to all day because it is so hands on and exciting. These materials really have brought our math curriculum to life. My students smile from ear and ear and their faves light up, eager to use the large dice or build a house out of blocks. They don't realize the entire time they are are adding numbers or decomposing and that's because they are enjoying it so much! Kindergarten is for most of my students their first exposure to education and it is my job to make it as rewarding and enjoyable as I can. It is because of donors like you, that I can teach a math skill and then allow my students to independently practice that skill until they master it. I can't thank you enough for helping my students grow as mathematicians. Thank you for inspiring them. You truly have made a difference and we can't thank you enough!”

Funded Mar 6, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations! My class was smiling from ear to ear when the boxes came in and they couldn't wait to get their hands on the materials! At this point in the school year my students are decoding words and we were in need of materials to help them do that. Daily 5 is the time of day when students work independently and it's important that they have materials that allow them to practice decoding words. The word sliders allow them to slide the panel covering one letter at a time as they must identify the missing letter. They enjoy doing this with partners in their reading groups. The stack and build phonics books are wonderful because there are 3 different levels so students can start at level one and work at their own pace to move on to level 2 and level 3. My students need to practice reading short vowels, long vowels, blends and digraphs. These books allow them to work at their own pace to spell words. The touch and read cvc word watch is wonderful because students can check their work on the answer key. They love putting their finger under each letter because of the texture. Finally the learning locks are probably their favorite. They love to check if the key fits in the locks as they practice reading. My students love all these new materials and we use them everyday during our center time. We are so grateful for the donations and appreciate these amazing materials!”

Kinders Reach for the Stars with Classroom Supplies!
Funded Oct 17, 2017Thank you so much for our chair pockets! My students were so excited when we opened the boxes! They were thrilled to finally have a place to store their journals and 100 Nook challenge supplies. They can now put their pencil case in a safe place to stay organized for our busy day. They kept telling me how happy they were to have such a large space to stay organized. When Kasi walked in the classroom and saw the boxes he couldn't stop smiling. When I opened the boxes and showed him he said " Wow! For us! This is so nice!"
We plan to use the chair pockets to hold our journals so my students can become more independent writers. The pockets will also hold flash cards of sight words so students can excel with their reading levels and practice sight words from an easy access to grabbing flash cards throughout the day. These pockets also store our decidable books so students can read a "good fit book" throughout the day when they finish their work.
Thank you for ensuring a successful school year for my students by providing chair pockets they need to hold supplies that will assist with their learning throughout the year!”

Mrs. Lutz
